I know the White Sox have great pitching, especially starting, but they only had the best AL record by 4 games. Plus I believe you guys have a slightly weaker division then us. Everyone in the AL East can beat each other where as you guys have KC and DET at the bottom. I would be more than happy to swap TB and BAL for those 2 teams. Then the top three I say is a scratch. NY=CHI (check reg. season records vs. each other), BOS>CLE, and MIN>TOR.

Record-wise:

White Sox > Yankees by 4 games

Red Sox > Guardians by 2 games

Twins > Blue Jays by 3 games

Orioles > Tigers by 3 games

D'rays > Royals by 11 games

East overall record: 411-399 with 2 teams at 2nd best record in AL

Central overall record: 402-408 with the best record in AL

I'd hardly say that the East is a tougher division. I understand we have the Royals, but we're comparable divisions. With an average Royals team, we are a much better division. Not only that, but the Central has the top pitching in the AL. The AL Central is no longer a weak division, I wish people would stop saying that.

How can you say they ONLY have the best record by 4 games. Four games is a lot, it's ridiculous to say otherwise. The AL division leaders have better records than in years past. It is a lot more of an equally matched league.

and you also almost blew a 15 game lead.

Almost blew a 15 game lead? Have you checked the standings...we won the division by 6 games. Lets talk about the Red Sox and how they should have taken advantage of a terrible Yankee first half. They almost didn't make the playoffs, how did they not "choke". The Cardinals finished 1 game ahead of the Sox, why didn't they almost "choke". The Sox did not blow anything, the Guardians were playing awesome baseball. I love how the media brainwashes you into thinking this BS...the Guardians played remarkable the last 2 months that is why our 15 game lead dropped down to 6.

did you not see the word almost in my post. I didnt say you guys blew a 15 game lead. And the media's not brainwashing anybody, its a fact you guys were pretty bad down the stretch. And nobody is denying that the Yankees had a terrible first half.

whens the last time you won a playoff series again?

their last playoff series win was the 1917 World Series if I remember correctly, right? I dont think they have won any since.

Don't look at history...history has nothing to do with this series. We shall see who's the better team next week, don't get your hopes up.

We were not BAD down the stretch...do you not realize how the Guardians were playing? How do you not say that the Red Sox played bad down the stretch?

Any team with a 15 game lead would have lost it to the way the Guardians were playing, that's my point. I can't wait until we prove everyone wrong...we've been doubted since day one.

youre talking about the present we were talking about the white sox in july had a 15 game advantage, it then whittled down to at one point just a 1.5 game lead

You do realize how that sounded incredibly like a bandwagonning Yankee fan pre-2004? Please don't do that to other teams' fans, you know how much it sucks.

We saw who the better team was during the season, the season series in the Red Sox favor 4-3. Of course, the postseason is completely different. No doubt that this is going to be one hell of a series. And you are right, people do doubt the White Sox. At this point in the season, the AL is WIDE OPEN. I won't be the least bit surprised as to which AL team makes the world series. All are great teams which are no pushover.

And also, the Red Sox were pretty bad down the stretch. Almost everyone on this board has said we were. Read some of the other threads before you assume that we don't say our team sucks at times.

congrats!, well i wasnt here at all for the series so i didnt know anything but when i came home i found out that the whitesox swept the Guardians!. But i cant wait till tuesday!! good luck!

And we won the division when it mattered...can you even say that you had a 15 game lead, or the best record in baseball for 2/3 of the season, or the best record in the AL since day one?

We won the division by 6 games, it doesn't matter how big the lead was at one point or how small it was at another. All that matters is we won it, and by a pretty healthy margin at that.

The Red Sox should have won the East, but instead their playoff hopes came down to the last day. I'm proud to say that didn't happen to the Sox.

I was being sarcastic, I really don't mind all of you guys being here at all.

are you here to merely gloat

Actually, the Cubs fans are the ones that get bombed and know nothing.

And Riverside, I don't think he's only here to gloat. He congratulated us in another thread and just wants to spark conversation, and get some emotions flowing for the ALDS. No problem with that :D

I don't want another Red Sox/Yankees ALCS. Call me crazy, but it's getting a little boring now to see the same two teams every year. Gimme some spice! We've seen enough Yankee pennants without the Sox playing them, let's see a Sox/Halos ALCS. Would be a different twist, and who knows? Maybe a new rivalry can crop out of it?

Call me crazy

You're crazy.

Anyway I just don't think it would be the same without beating the Yanks. Sure, I'd be ecstatic if we won the World Series, but that Yankee series was much more exciting than the World Series. Seeing that once a year wouldn't be too bad. Besides it's too tough to form a rivalry with the Angels when:

A. Their fans are on the other coast, not too much interaction with them

B. We only play them 8 or 9 games a year

C. They get their asses handed to them like last year.

Hmmm, true. I guess I am crazy.

I think it would be a bit of the same if we did or didn't play the Yankees. I mean, it'd still be good, yet it's even better to beat the Yankees.

I can't wait to hear the 1917 chants at Fenway.

Is it just me, or does it seem like we have a White Sox fan who knows the season only has 3 games left, and is getting his shots in now?

Chicago is DONE.

okay so your saying the whitesox wont win a postseason series?, okay so what if they do? are you going to say they will lose in the alcs? now im not saying the whitesox will win against the redsox it will be nice to see that, but im just wondering what if they do beat the redsox and go to the alcs? will you still say they are finished?

No team is finished here, the AL is still wide open. Chicago, Anaheim, Boston, and New York are great ball clubs that deserve to be respected and feared at the same time. There's a very real chance that anyone of these teams will be playing in the big party 3 weeks from now, and I won't be surprised to see anyone of these 4 teams there. This is the postseason now, totally new season, and anything can happen. It's impossible and ludicrous to say that any of these postseason teams are "done."

...Unless you are the San Diego Padres
