Toronto just matches up with our pitching very well. I predicted the Sox would split, but one of the guys the Jays match up well against is Clement. :( Oh well, it was a nice run.

Sox can only take 2 outa 3 at home against the Yanks, but I think (hope) all three will be intersting. Arroyo up for the playoff game in NY if the Sox sweep this weekend is not a great option.

But yes, it's over if the Sox lose tomorrow night. To be honest, to watch all you Boo Bird *******s cry will be just funny enough to get me through it. :D

And just to be clear, if, IF the Sox win the East, there is no way in Hell they win the WS again. Not enough pitching if you ask me.

I just hope they bring Millar back just to piss Sarasox"fan" off. :D

Horrible game. Let's get back on it tomorrow! I'm not totally surprised, Lilly has this team's number... just like Kazmir and Paul Byrd seem to.

Way to be an optimist dude.

We MUST win tomorrow. If we go into Friday 2 games down, it's going to be hard for us to comeback. Imagine that happens though.

If it does, the Yankees obviously lose all 3 games, giving the Guardians a chance for the WC. In which case, we would have single handedly eliminated the Yankees from the playoffs.

I get tired of the 'manager-speak' about pitching changes.

"We need to get as many innings as possibble out of him".

As many innings of WHAT as possible?

After the fourth Blue Jays run, it was time to pull Arroyo. Just don't give any pitcher the opportunity to have a long bad day on a bad day. Give the ball to somebody else.

Then when the next guy has everything very well under control, they do another switch to an as-yet unproven entity. Granted, DelCarmen and Myers both got the job done, but it should have been Dinardo's ball until such a time that he either blows it or runs out of gas.

So much BS about 'saving pitchers for tomorrow', or the next day. The f#cking game is on the line right now. Do what it takes to win it. At this point they need to wait until tomorrow to worry about tomorrow. There are only a few tomorrows left.

Unconfident bitches. We are 1 game down, and your bitching like your mommy just took away your favorite suck toy.

If we are down 2 games going into the Yankees series, I will stillhave confidence in this team. All I have to say is remember what this team did last year. Remember what this team did with their backs against the wall. Remember what this team did when they were 3 outs away from going home. Just remember, and dont give this faithless ********, then come back and show faith later on if they make the playoffs.

best offense: edgar is continuing to heat it up which is great to see as in the 1st inning he hit his 8th HR to straight-away center field and scored the only 2 runs the Sox were able to muster up. Edgar has a current 6 game hitting streak (at least one extra base hit in those games) and has scored 5 Runs in the first 3 games. Big Papi collected his majors leading 144th RBI.

dishonorable mention: Really everybody as 11 men were left on base, enough to even at least tie up the game. Manny had went 0-4 and stranded 4 men on base, Tek continuing his never-ending slump went 0-3, Millar did have a hit but stranded 5 men on base, and Tony G also had a hit but still had stranded 4 men on base with his outs. An offensive slump at Fenway is not a good thing to see right now.

best pitching: Lenny DiNardo had really helped keep the Sox in the game as he went 4 strong innings giving up just the 1 hit (double that let 2 runners score) he walked 3 and struck out 2. Manny Delcarmn making his bid that he should be played more had a scoreless inning of relief. Myers also did a good job to close out the 9th.

dishonorable mention: i think thats kind of obvious

best defense: bill mueller, swear to god he better be heavily considered for a gold glove

The only upside of the game for me was Edgar hitting number 8 on the year. Other than that last night was a big dissapointment.

"stillhave confidence in this team"

A fan's faith and/or confidence has no bearing and no effect on whether a game can be won or not.

A manager's bubbleheaded boobiness does. If a pitcher is off form and you leave him in long enough to let the opponent pad their already comfortable lead, then later in the same game you pull a pitcher who has the situation under control, you should be managing a hot dog stand, not a professional sports team.
