I know the sox have fallen to 2nd place and if the play-offs started now they wounldn't be in. This is where you must have faith!

 

The season isn't over and we still own the best advantage in this race between the sox vs. the yanks. We have home field for 3 games to finish out the season against the evil empire.

 

The JEDI's aka Red Sox will win out the regular season, go into the play-offs on a hot streak, and wow all of baseball and win it all. Do I know this will happen?

This is far from over. I think our starting pitching is better while your offense is better. Both the Yankees and Red Sox have had bullpen issues. As a Yankee fan, I'd say our biggest weakness is the bullpen. Outside of Gordon and Rivera, it's hard to trust ANYBODY from the pen.

 

I think the division will come down to those final 3 games. I've said over on other boards that I think Cleveland is the most dangerous team in the American League. My guess is that they will win the wild card while either the Yankees or Red Sox go home.

The yanks losing tonight would make me feel a lot better about things, but i think we have to sweep the o's and win 3 of 4 from Toronto, going into the Yanks Series

whats really got to (mind my language) f***ing stop is these careless plays by Manny. In April I can let go a jog to 1st base. But to do that when you're team just has 11 games left and holds a .5 game lead is inexcusable. Kazmir had lost the ball and with hustle Manny couldnt gotten to 1st base safely or at least a close call, Kazmir had thrown the ball high which Lee had to jump up off the base to get it. Even Lee was surprised when he came down that Manny was still like 5, 6 feet from getting there. Who knows if they wouldve been able to score some runs in that 1st inning. dont even get me started on how a lot of times balls will just go by him in the outfield, 8th inning *cough*

What are the Yankee probables? We deff cant lose to these average teams, This whole schedule scares me, especially after we lose 2/3 to the friggin Devil Rays. Hopefully this'll wake this team up, doesn't seem like we're playin with any urgency yet. We got our bullpen faltering every night, I mean, Timlin, just plain frustrating last night, he should be lights out like he is in the playoffs, instead he's givin up runs to the worst team in the AL East. I would not feel safe with him on the mound in a tight game v. BAL or TOR.

the bullpen has been faltering. Its just Tito needs to put his pitchers in at the right times, like dont leave bradford in to face lefties, myers to face righties, timlin in with inherited runners

 

Timlin when he starts an inning cleanly his ERA is at 0.96

Mussina will start today and if hes helthy he will start that Sunday game. Johnson will go that Saturday game. Torre has hinted that he will move Wang to Sunday which will set him up for that Friday night game in Fenway. So I would look for that series to be

 

Wang vs Wells

Johnson vs Schilling

Mussina vs Wakefield

 

I just dont think Torre would be that stupid to let the Red Sox get another crack at Small in Fenway esp since he has not pitched well in his last 3 starts.
