You're pros........being paid big bucks and expected to produce. Starting tonight, the BoSox need to show that they are the World Champions and not one time wonders. Your fans support you and deserve your best effort. Lets put to rest who's the best in the east and put the Yankees in their place.......second place and runner up in the wild card race!

Go BoSox!

And put in whom, Hanley, who hit worse than him at AA?

Fact, if the Red Sox don't sign Renteria, they don't have the extra draft pick to draft Craig Hansen. Get used to it.

I guess you're right....but how ironic that everyone who started in last's shelling got a hot except edgar. Man, he is imploding..

That was a great start to stepping it up. we've got to keep it going though, because the yankees are on a roll.

I hope to God it doesnt come to that series with the yankees but I'm afraid it is.

edgar still worked a 10 pitch at bat to get on base for papi's 2nd homerun that clearly put the game out of reach for the d-rays. hope this is just a one season fluke edgar is having, benefit of the doubt but if he plays like this in the 1st half of 2006, i'll call Sox front office personally.

other than that, great win last night and the offense finally breaking out of their 3 runs a game crap really had greatly overshadowed Schill's 2nd good start of 2005 going 7 strong innings giving up 2 runs on 6 hits, 1 walk and 7 Ks. He threw 117 pitches and his last pitches were still hitting 94 on the gun. Have to feel good also about Manny Delcarmen striking out the side in his inning of relief (def in bullpen of 06), and even Lenny DiNardo did a commendable job to close out the game with 2 Ks.

Stretch run with 11 games left, .5 game lead, lets take one game at a time. I so far smell a pitcher's duel: the thorn in our ass Kazmir vs Wakefield who just dominates the D-Rays especially at Tropicana Field going 6-0 there with just a 1.73 ERA

Edgar is a very very very streaky hitter. You certainly can't expect a move in replace of Edgar.....will not happen. I hear Hanely though plays better in a big crowd and craves the opportunity to do great things....seems like Edgar is getting used to messing up. So on one hand you have a guy looking to prove himself and the other who has no confidence.....tough...hopefully the head coach can help out the situation.

Yes I was impressed with Manny Delcarmen and Dinardo. Makes things more difficult when it comes time to figure out who will make the playoff roster. If I had to choose 5 guys right now I would have to go with Timlin, Papelbon, Hansen, Myers, Bradford, and possibly DiNardo (we need another lefty). Long relief situations could be taken care of by Arroyo. Gonzo has been hit hard lately (might be getting tired), Harville has shown me nothing as I expected, and this can't be Keith Foulke can it??

Edgar sucks. Give Hanley a shot.

Yeah, very persuasive, we should deff email this to Tito and he'll have to bench Edgar. C'mon, the only reason we brought up Hanley is so that he can be a defensive replacement if needed, and to get spare experience time, not to challenge ERent at the SS position. Remember when he started out the season something ridiculous? like .230- ? Well since then he's brught that average up to .270+ and hasn't really gotten the credit he deserves. Granted I wouldn't mind if Hanley taught him to use a friggin' glove.
