Sorry about the assumption with your username. I'm willing to bet I'm not the first though.

EDIT: sarasox as in Sarasota 'Sox?

Posted

yeah, I should change it--when the sox win this year I'll change it.

In the meantime, I'm still worried and wish to God the f***ing yankess would stop winning, that would improve the mood.

PS: yes...I live in sarasota and when i joined last year we had the class A sarasota red sox, now its a reds team though.

now you know how we felt in mid august when you guys made it go from 0.5 out to 5.5 out for us.

But seriously, wanna talk about a free fall? Look at the other Sox team.

remy said it was going to be a 3.5 game lead for the chisox.

yes that is a free fall.

good point about the 5.5 game lead --and from I have seen the yankee fans were being pretty fatalistic...now, it must be frustrating to win 6 games in row and still not gain much ground. I suppose it all depends on how you look at things. I guess I do get a tad negative at times, and I get mauled for it. But hey, we havent played so well in spetmeber and this isnt the time to slump..just because the delusional knuckleheads (aka..the redsox fan police) in here dont approve it doesnt mean you cant think it or say it. right?

clement was butt ugly again today, but thanks to good ole embree and the jays we didnt lose any ground.

where is our offense?

our pawsox line up today notwithstanding.

well, if ever there was a team to get it going against I suppose the devil rays are it.

Now Clement is in a free fall. Add this to the list of problems.

... no he's not. One bad start does not make a free fall.

Last 5 starts:

8/24 7IP 3ER ND

8/29 5IP 1ER W

9/3 8IP 2ER W

9/8 6.2IP 3ER L

9/13 6.0 6ER L

So lets not go acting like he's been horrible.

his last two starts have been horrible, I wouldnt say he is in free fall, but he has been bad the last two times out.

It's our offense that is even more worrisome. you're going to get games like yesterday along the way especially when you're playing so many games without an off day, but the fact that there are two weeks left and our offense is anemic--is indeed worrisome to me anyway.

3ER over 6.2IP is a horrible outting? I wouldn't say it's a good outting but it's far from horrible. I'll give you the last start he made as being horrible but the one before that was definatly not, and look at the 3 before them.

I apologize. MLB.com wouldn't load for me, so I had to resort to ESPN, and apparently they hadn't updated, and because it was so early in the morning I didn't even look at the dates I was typing.

Still though I'm not that worried. Considering over the 4 previous starts, before the two you mentioned, Hammer allowed 8ER over 26.2 Innings

I think there is a problem with Clement. Its been proven that in the course of his career he isn't that strong at the end. I'm not sure if he gets tired or what. The Sox may want to keep this in mind next season and not over use him in the beginning. He was 10-1 hitting July and now its not so beautiful to watch. His pitches aren't breaking as much as they were in the beginning. Too much getting left over the plate. Its clear he is tired. Luckily Wakefield and Wells are big gamers for the stretch run and amazing Arroyo has put some decent games up. Arroyo has now been strong the last two seasons for the stretch run. We are deffinitly struggling at the plate but this team looks exhausted. I blame this on the MLB for that White Sox game. Both teams are tired and struggling and I think it has a lot to do with the traveling and NEVER having a day off. Poorly executed by the MLB.

Wow yeah I just realized with the day off, that might be affecting somewhat the white sox's play recently

Side Note: I do think Varitek should be given off consecutive days, tonight and tomorrow when wakefield is pitching. the man is obviously really tired when he is up to bat, besides Mirabelli has 8 hits in 14 at bats against Hendrickson who is pitching tonight's game

I would be worried.

Matt has a long history of a “miserable” late-season pitching.

He only has two more starts this year so hopefully he can dig down and get some good stuff going. If the Sox make the playoffs I see Schilling, Wakefield, and Wells being our main 3. Clement being the game 4 and Arroyo doing what he did last year in the bullpen. Thats not real important cause we are far from that point but mostly he just needs to get through these last two starts and make them count.
