Well Gabe's done for this season. What awful timing to get a cleat stuck in Turf. I hope he's okay for next season. he means so much to us. one of the best on the bench. he's got some speed and great defence and of course a great clubhouse guy. well, trot and johnny are gonna have to try to stay a little heathy.

This really hurts with Damon out with a shoulder and Stern still not a hundred percent. He's gonna be gone for a longgggggggggg time.

Wouldn't it be looooooooooooooooooooooooooong ... do you guys really drag out the g?

Anyway, ya Kapler will be missed. Hopefully he'll have a full recovery, and be able to help out next year.

It's not like Kapler was hitting th hell out of the ball, he did a decent job filling in for Damon. Let's put it this guy if you could pick one guy to go down in last nights line up he's the guy.

First off, I'm willing to bet Nomar prolonged his stints on the DL. He fouled a ball of his foot, Kapler ruptured his Achilles. Second, I think Kap will be back next year, and with a vengeance. From his stint in Japan to this 'bad luck' injury Kapler has just not been having a good year. Come 2006 his fortunes will change and I think he'll contribute next year like he did last year. Here's to a quick recovery Gabe.

Stern is not the answer. Hyzdu is now with the team, but unfortunately we'll see alot more of Millar in rightfield. This injury cuts into the bench badly.

With a vengance? He was never that good to begin with. He's a decent back up with a good glove to go in late in games, but outside of that he's really not that good of a player. He's a career .271 hitter, with very limited time. Red Sox fans give Kapler far more credit than he deserves.

au contraire..

see the article in the globe today, gabe kapler defines everything that is good about a professional athlete and you cant win championships without the gabe kapler's of this world.

I dont care if he is a lifetime 251 hitter, he is balls out all the time...he brings an intangible to all those around him and he does nothing but compete and hard.

You want positve from me--here it is...gabe!!

If you think the fans give him far more credit, how about the great Curt Schilling who during an interview last year said that Kapler "is one of the most underrated players on the team!"?

I think Gabe deserves all the credit he gets and I'm sad to see him out of the lineup.

I also like Gabe, for a number of reasons. But even with the tremdous effort he'll put into rehab, he won't come back 100%. The nature of that injury will slow him down, its a question of to what extent.

Kevin Millar goes balls out all the time too, and we know how much you love him.

All Kidding aside I see your point, he doesn't get enough credit from the average fan, but I still think Red Sox fans give him a bit more credit than he should get.

put "Youk" on the list, he's most likely done for the season with his middle finger getting broken on a routine ground ball. I heard on WEEI that Alejandro Machado will now be Mueller's backup through end of season, and with Youk being put on the DL, Machado could take his spot on the roster for the playoffs if Sox make it there

moi?

when gabe goes balls out, they are size of dodge balls, with millar its chicklets though.

however, I agree I give him more credit than he probably deserves--man i cant get this right either I'm being too generous with praise or too negative!!
