Sox fans- please explain to me where Lucchino gets off insinuating that Giambi may be back on the juice? That is pure speculation and is pointed at one person in particular; not very professional in my opinion.

Don't get me wrong- our owner is the King of saying stupid things to the press, but in his defense, it is rarely if ever directed at another player in particular. In fact, when they are pointed at players, they are most often at Yanks! Just curious to see what you guys think of what he said......

side note: How freaking clutch has Graffanino been for you guys? Man, it seems like every move Epstein makes is a great one.

Thanks

It is sad that we have to specualte like that. But it is thr truth now. I live with a 2 yanks and they say papi is on the juice. The way Giambi is hitting after his start this season is kinda fishy. Just like Raffy struggled then picked up. Coincadence? Maybe.

Stop for a minute and go back to last year........do you remember the look in Giambi's eyes....looked like a deer in the headlights........well, compare his look at start of the this season and now..........he has regained that wild man look..........sure makes me wonder what's up?

Unfortunatly I have been stuck watching Yankee games all year since moving to this dump called NJ. I have been watching Jason Giambi and his swing is the exact same as it was in the beginning of the year....only difference....he has faster bat speed. Now it is possible that your bat speed can go up throughout the course of the season. However, I don't see how a player can put that much weight back on in the course of a season considering they are playing baseball everyday. I don't want to hear about this crap with Jason working hard on his swing and Don Mattingly and whatever. Players do not workout to the extent that they increase there muscle and weight mass to what Giambi has during a baseball season. I am very skeptical because it just doesn't look right to me. He looks different...no other way to put it. As far as David Ortiz being on steroids....dream on. He has always been fat and you can tell by his character and attributes that he doesn't cheat. It took him several years to get his swing right....that is the reason for his success and its easy to see when you look back at David when he played for the Twins.

By the way.....there is nothing better than CONSTANTLY seeing Jason Giambi get a curtain call for the Yankees. Isn't a curtain call supposed to be for big moments and heroics in a baseball game? Goes to show what the Yanks have been this year that they need to cheer for a lame ass losing cheater like Giambi......pathetic

I mentioned this this morning in another thread. Mike and Mike were talking about that and his profuse sweating suddely returning when he came out of his slump.

Dude if Lucchino wants to speculate that Jeter takes it up the ass, he can. You can speculate about whatever you want, whoever you are. I'm tired of the people on this board telling me me what I, and everyone else, is allowed to think. If you don't want to hear about it then don't listen/read. Think about things if the roles were reversed. You're telling me you wouldn't be speculating if a Red Sox player had taken steroids, completely fell off the map, then all the suddenly became the player he was when he was using steroids ... looking like he did when he was using them? I call ******** if you say you wouldn't. So shut up and stop bitching ... we're not the ones with two former steroid users on our team. If you wanna blame someone for this blame George for getting him in the first place.

There actually little things different about his swing. Just little mechanical things that dont look like big things but make a huge difference. For instance look at his balance from early on the year compared to this year, he seemed a little unstable in the feet and, and also his timing has gotten better. If you noticed in the beginning of the year he seemd to pull out too early, missing the ball.

And sorry if you dont want to hear this "crap" about him "working hard with Donny" but I have to believe that. Especially since Mattingly is the hitting coach and it is his JOB to work hard with players to improve their hitting.

difference between you and Lucchino is that he is an official who is supposed to go about things in a professional manner and speculating on another player and steroid use is extremely unprofessional. I wouldnt be surprised to see a fine.

if he wants to speculate he can do so in t he comfort of his on home, with his friends, or he can come on this board with a disguised identity and do it. (wouldnt completely shock me  )

Yea, what he said is correct, the little things are different. If you saw the episode of Baseball tonight when Giambi started doing good, they showed the difference between his swing in the beginning of th year, and now, Very different.

Yeah he is able to control his body again....weird I wonder why....and please when has Jason Giambi ever had good balance....its always been a strange ugly swing....

Those are interesting notes about his appearance cause I noticed that too....sweating, blood shot eyes.....maybe he just gets high before every game

Looks like he has pretty good balance now. Whenevr it looks like hes going to fall over with that powerful swing he stays up.

Hey guys, I slowly see this thread becoming an "attack Giambi" thread so if you want to attack Jason, me, or both Jason or me (like everyone else) go to the Giambi thread.

I also speculate he's back on the juice, mostly becuase of his re-gained size. Also when he hit that knuckleball into RF against Wake got me thinkin' also. Yes, I know it's much shorter than a lot of places but still, there are at least 2 reasons that shouldv'e been a fly-ball. First of all it was a slow curveball, not a 90 mph fastball that goes father, and second of all he was almost parallel to the ground when he hit it, and you could almost see his right foot comin of the ground. That makes for a) no power generated from the pitch, and B) a terrible swing, off balance and everything. That just got me thinkin more
