When the bullpen was terrible in 03 theo did a good job overhauling the bullpen it went from terrible to one of the best it was a real weapon for the sox and remember that success was established late,so let's hope that happenes again this year.As much as i hate to say it im not really to excited about it this year

perisho didn't look to good tonight

going to our 6th pitcher tonight

I wouldnt have too much confidence in foulke yet, maybe he gets back into 2004 form by the end of the season, but right now if I were Francona my guys would be Timlin and Bradford.

yes true Matt Perisho's 1st batter he faced, he gave up a double--so we really didnt see what he can be able to do. same goes for chad harville who I thought shouldve gotten the whole 7th inning, not just in there for 1 out

true, hey i was sitting behind home plate and all of my section through the 1st base sideline sections were giving him a standing ovation when he came back to the dugout, for Foulke and Harville. Matt Perisho we had just clapped because really he was in there for just 1 batter

With Foulke it's all about his location on pitches, that's his main weapon, because w/o it, he has a below average fastball, good change, but only a 50% chance that it won't get guessed by the batter. Last night, I think he got lucky that hit went to Nixon, he started off okay, with fasballs, than I guess the slider was a watse pitch, but then he misses w/ a fastball and changeup, thank god he didn't miss over the plate and they were balls. If he misses over the plate, its goin over the Monster. At elats he got a good cheer from the crowd.

The stuff that Perisho and Harville show us is irrevelent anyway because they are not eligible for the playoff roster. I am still scratching my head with the bullpen moves Francona made last night. It seemed he did everything possible to lose that game. I dont understand why he threw all of the shitbums when trailing by 1 run. If its a blowout, sure use those guys to save the bullets of your bullpen aces, but not in a close game please.

IMO come seasons end the playoff pitching staff will be Schilling, Wells, Clement, Wakefield.....Timlin Foulke and Papelbon as set up men/closer, Arroyo the long man, Bradford and Myers as the ROOGY and LOOGY and if possible Hansen could help when/if his arm comes around. Hansen will be eligible once he takes Mantei's spot.

yeeaah its not like Chad Harville has had a 1.76 ERA in 15 games since the all star break, and Matt Perisho with the Marlins posted a 1.93 ERA in 24 games, then in Pawtucket posted a 2.08 ERA in 13 games down there. yea ok i see logic in callin them "shitbums"

Lefties are also hitting .346 against the Lefty Perisho. Perisho blows. Perisho also owns a 4.25 career minor league ERA. Go to http://www.thebaseballcube.com/players/matt_perisho.shtml and check it out. Perisho is definately a shitbum.

so the fact they are having f***ing great seasons, just because theyve done bad in the past, to call them that makes sense. go check perisho's stats for 2005. true lefties kill him, but hmm i think hes a great righty specialist with right handed batters hitting just 167. haha by the way are you like 12, because only a miniscule 12 year old would come up with an assinine name-calling as that was

Perisho has thrown 14 Innings. Thats one helluva season. If he gives up 2 ER in his next appearance his ERA will be right around his career average. He is also 29, not much upside. 14 Innings is hardly enough to call it a good season.

Its obvious at this forum that when you prove someone wrong, and then show them the numbers, they just get offended and insult you instead of learning. Saying somebody is having an excellent season based on 14 Innings is laughable.

PS. Making fun of someone at the computer is funny. I can honestly picture you slamming your keyboard with authority because you were so angered I called him a shitbum. You call me a 12 year old, but you are the one insulting me on an internet redsox forum. Go get em' you internet warrior.

Over the last three seasons righties are hitting .302, lefties .229. So what does this tell us? It tells us that his success against righties this season smells like a fluke, especially when only based on 24 AB's. Lets say the nest four righties get up and they get basehits, then righties are hitting .250. See how small sample sizes mean nothing? Again, you are saying he is having an excellent season based on 14 Innings and 50 BF........

I didnt call him a shitbum. I called Perisho a shitbum. read the conversation

I though Foulke actually looked pretty good. His fastball location was good and he was hitting 88. He also threw a good slider that a batter took for a ball. His change is still too high in the zone though.

your a great example the kind of "fans" I hate, fans that have no confidence in the team.

We have only 1 lefty in the pen, myers, and hes a specialist so why wouldn't we bring up perisho, A LEFTY!

common sense.

Perisho will not be on the playoff roster, and isnt getting lefties out this season, and has gotten killed by righties throughout his career.

I have plenty of confidence in the team, with the players that got us to this point anyway. I do not have confidence in Matt Perisho, and if you put trust in soemone like Matt Perisho, the season is over. I have no problem with him pitching in blowouts like I said, but if the game is close, no thanks. He shouldnt pitch in close games anyway, because again.....he is not even elignible for the playoff roster.
