See...we're not that bad.

NEW YORK -- The New York Yankees and the NFL are each donating $1 million to the American Red Cross to assist victims of Hurricane Katrina in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama.

Yankees owner George Steinbrenner said the franchise was "heeding the President's call to help the people devastated by this hurricane in the affected areas.

Very classy move, it is complete chaos down here. The area is a disaster and now there are crazy people all over the streets with nothing in the New Orleans area that are fleeing to Baton Rouge. It is very scary because these people have nothing to lose and are breaking into houses cars and stores holding people up at gunpoint. Scary, scary situation down here. We have been told to exercise martial law and shoot anyone that comes into our houses or businesses. Everyone is sleeping with guns. It is a very sad and scary place right now and any and all help is appreciated.

Wow, CajunSox, that really is scary. My thoughts and prayers go out to you, your family, and everyone else surviving this disaster.

Red Sox vs. Yankees is strictly a sports-related rivalry, when it comes to things like this, we're all human beings coming together to help other human beings in need, doesn't matter which cap you wear.
