I am hopeful wade comes back to the rotation and helps out.

the bullpen sucks and we need starting pitching to save the day, at present we really dont have an ace, and miller seems to have a lot heart and grit and if he's healthy I say give him the ball.

If he pitchs like he did in his last appearance he should be fine in the rotation. Wade Miller is not coming back, nor should he, he has been a bust this year.

Bust? We arent paying him hardly anything. If you want to talk abotu bust look at Adrian Beltre, or the Yankees rotation, or Carlos Beltran.

Sizzlin22 is right. It does matter what we pay him, if he doesn't produce, he doesn't produce ( injuries aside ). He didn't say it was a bad signing, it wasn't. Low money with a lot of potential. But when that potential doesn't pan out, it's time to adjust.

I'm not saying he's a huge bust, but a bust is a bust, he should be done for the rest of the season.

Roger Clemens is not walking through that door. pedro Martinez is not walking through that door. Cy Young is not walking through that door hahahaha.

BTW.....Miller is not a bust, we signed him knowing he was gunna struggle at times this season. Lets wait till next year until we judge him. Now he has a year under his belt with his shoulder.

Seeing as how the pen and rotation are going to be full when he comes back. The Sox should keep him on the D.L or since the pen is full why not demote Remlinger to make room for Miller.

No we signed him knowing that he would struggle early on in the season, after he got healthy he was expected to perform.

Thats actually not really the case. With the arm injury Miller sustained there are few pitchers (I cant think of any) that went back to form immediatly. If you look Wade Miller is still very young and the stuff has been there time to time. I knew he would probably end up on the DL one more time this year (I was hoping it would have been earlier) but he deffinitly needs an off season to gain his control back. There are people to jump on now (Millar, Remlinger, Bellhorn, whatever) that really don't have an excuse. If the Sox gave up on Miller now I think we would be throwing away a very valuable player for this time next year.

To be honest, I really dont think hes even been that bad. If you take away the first inning in most of his starts hes got decent numbers. Wade Miller is a much better name than other teams roll out there as their number 4 or 5 guys.

And Schilling you are right, I thought I remembered reading that somewhere as well.

There's an article about Miller in today's Globe. He threw a baseball today and reported no pain. He hopes to throw off a mound in the next couple of days. I expect to see him by September.

I'm not positive on what his role will be. I think some people have real high hopes on Papelbon though. Certainly I love what I see but I'm not sure how long it will last. Young pitchers have speed bumps sooner or later. We have too many pitchers and not enough places to put them which is an excellent situation to have. Currently these are the starters:

Curt Schilling

David Wells

Matt Clement

Tim Wakefield

Bronson Arroyo

Wade Miller

Jon Papelbon

Obviously Schilling, Wells, Clement must be starters. Wakefield should be a starter although knows how to throw out of the pen. The battle for the 5th spot in the rotation will be between Miller, Arroyo, and Papelbon. I know Papelbon has looked good but he may be better suited teamed with Hansen in the bullpen as two young flame throwing relievers setting up for Timlin and giving him a rest for the stretch. Then you have Arroyo and Miller fighting it out for the 5th spot. Arroyo would be better out of the bullpen than Wade Miller (although thats not a deffinite). Sometimes players just need a change of scenery and maybe Miller would suprise out of the bullpen. Couldn't be any worse than Remlinger. I really don't know how the Sox will play this out....but having too many arms is better than having too few. Its a good problem to have. If it were up to me and I had to choose this moment:

Rotation: Schilling, Wells, Clement, Wakefield, Arroyo

Bullpen: Foulke, Timlin, Hansen, Papelbon, Bradford, Myers, Gonzalez

If he can throw without pain then definitely put him in the pen. Until proven otherwise Wells is the ace of the staff and a Game 1 starter in any playoff series.
