Millar on the bench really isn't a great idea if you think about it.

 

If he's on the bench, you know Tito would use him to pinch hit because Olerud and Petegini are both lefties. So that means you'd probably see more of Millar late in the game - especially considering he can take over in right or left field.

 

I like Millar so seeing you guys get all wound up about him is starting to crack me up. I almost came on last night after Millar made that bad throw to 1b but it wasn't called an error - just to rub it in. haha

 

I bet you that even if Millar continues to play the way he has so far this season, he'll be on the postseason roster. The fact that he plays other positions, works counts, gets on base, has a positive clubhouse influence and has been to the playoffs the last 2 years make him impossible to leave off the roster.

Millar on the bench is a HORRIBLE idea, I agree, but it's a better idea than in the lineup. At least if he comes in late in the game as a pinch hitter he can only hurt you once as opposed to 3 or 4 times, and at least Terry has the common sense to take him out for defense.

 

Kevin Millar does not belong on the Boston Red Sox bench, or lineup, or even in the stadium. Like I said, get rid of Millar, 1984 style.

I'd like to see Olerud play daily. He was awesome yesterday on his first day back, no less.

I'd be fine with getting rid of Millar right now. I'm only concerned that Olerud may get hurt again, and then Petagine has to play every day. Honestly though I feel much more comfortable with Petagine than Kevin, where'd my power go, Millar. I've been tired of hearing how great he is in the club house for quite a while now and I'm starting to think it's all BS. I don't understand how a player as bad as KFK can still be in this lineup on a consistant basis. Are they honestly trying to convince us that KFK can help this team more than Youk can? Because if so then I think everyone from the front office down to Tito needs to have their heads checked.

last night is a given after being out for some time, he was 2 for 4 with an RBI and defense alone, like that webgem play of his tagging out the runner

I don't know about that. He comes back from not playing 2 weeks and goes 2 for 4 with a webgem? Come on. I'll take this guy over Millar / Petagine any day.
