that kind of delusional thinking is dangerous, fellows...they are only 4.5 back with the staff trouble they've had. If they have so much trouble winning against anyone..how come they have 60 wins. oh and for the record, I believe they took a series right after the all-star break from a team near and dear to your heart.

you're opening yourself up for some real agony if you ever take them lightly or count them out. Maybe it's our history with them, but I wont be satisifed until I see them eliminated mathematically.

Yes, it's fun that we're in first, and have been for 3 weeks-- if you don't count the 1 day the Yankees were in first we've been in first for 6 weeks. But the only important thing is how you finish. The Yankees have admirably stayed in the hunt DESPITE some pretty major injuries. If they can get Pavano and RJ healthy, and guys like Chacon and Small fill in at the back end of the rotation, it won't matter that they wasted so much money on Wright and Brown, because they'll have enough to win in September and October.

moyer has been a tough competitor for a lot of years, I think it more reflective of a putrid team chemistry, the thought of playing with the leagues biggest douche bag (sheffield), an unappealing management and the dumbest, rudest and worst fans in sports that makes going to new york that UNattractive.

NO, he also turned down trades to Atlanta and Houston, are you saying that Houston and Atlanta are percieved badly?

 

Although its fun to dump on the Yanks ( its so easy ), they just don't have the pitching to make any strong run. Hell, winning a series ( against anyone ) is a big deal. I'll actually kind of miss beating them in the play-offs.

wow, the world seems to be singing a different song now. how come every player who has played here, in any sport, says that we are the best and most knowledgeable fans. Its always New England and New York that are always commended on their passion and knowledge of the game, and having the best fans. So please stop with that ******** about how we're the dumberst, rudest fans in sports. The small amount of fans you're reffering to are the bandwagoners. The people that jumped on board after we won all the championships in the 90's. Im surprised you dont recognize them, because they're turning up all over "Red Sox nation" now. When the Yankees were "America's Team" in the 90's we had bandwagoners, and now that The Sox have taken over as "America's Team" the same thing is happening. Dont you think its kind of odd that you have all these fans from all over the country. You would think that it would offend the real Sox fan, when fans, who have teams of their own out where they live, are feeding off the Red Sox. So in a few years there will be just as many "rude, dumb, and stupid" Red Sox fans as their are Yankee fans. They're called frontrunners.

But that was then and this is now. Let's face it the Yanks are having a s*** year, and under the circumstances there is very little they can due about it this year. Bringing up th past does change anything now.

im back from the game and doing some celebrating at a bar nearby fenway, what a f***ing awesome game!! god three great games ive been to in a row; the Yankees bashing 17-1, "Manny's back" game against the Twins 4-3, now this whipping at Kenny Rogers man 16-5. 8th inning everything just was lit up. Everytime Kenny took the mound all 35000 of us in the stadium just erupted in boos, first time he took it was really intense, haha. I knew something was up that he didnt come back to the 6th inning considering his pitch count was like 80 or so. oh my god that friggin call by the ump on gabe, chants were going "f*** the umps", i was sitting 10 rows from the dugout and could clearly see the ball bounce off the top of the monster

 

yes guybo and noonanberg, you can keep giving us this "22 errors s*** and taking comments from larussa, who by the way sucks when it comes to the world series to begin with" f***ing 4 for 5 with RBIs. Besides that got to see a quality Bronson start at Fenway which has been rarer to see this season, I'll try to scan some photos I took during the game sometime later on today after some much needed sleep. a blowout of a game, i got to meet George Bush Sr actually shaking his hand and even more important got to meet Kelly the ball girl , sox win their 11th straight at fenway. overall 12 out of their last 14, and cherry on top a 5 1/2 game lead over the lowly yankees. *sigh* life is good
