id rather have Embree out there than Wayne Franklin. And Embree seems to be straightning out little by little

He only appears to be strightened out because outside of his first few outing Torre only uses him for one batter, trust me you don't want him out there any longer than that.

Sorry, I meant to spell it out. Embree has "straightened out" plenty of times this year. It's always preceeded another meltdown. Those little pictures of fires, and stuff exploding are representative of Embree s***ing the bed over and over. Below them, are dates of good outings. Outings, in which he came out of the bullpen and pitched well. The anecdotal evidence that Embree is turning a corner is no different than the plenty of good games he's pitched in between godawful outings, where I'm sure a satisfied viewer has sat back and felt that maybe Embree was back, or maybe some poor soul posted on a message board about Embree turning it around.

Leiter gives up too many walks to go into the BP. And I would happily, gladly, award Embree pinstripes if he can own Ortiz. Publisher's Clearinghouse would then happily, gladly award me with a million dollars.

C'mon, 26 to 6, you should know that for relievers to see any action, you have to be a member of Torre's Boys®. Where is Felix Rodriguez? I'm sure benching him is going to straighten him out; he's seen limited action since coming off the DL, and Sturtze could use a break. He's not quite the same since the "emergency start". Proctor's doing an ok job now. I don't want Wang to be rushed, but if he comes back, he's a number three. The rotation spot is earned, memo to Pavano and Wright.

Don't expect a Koufaxian postseason out of the starters. Torre's bullpen management is going to render quite a few of them useless...TanGor. TanGor. I do appreciate your optimism though, I guess I'm typing this in not the best mood.

stevece80: Thanks for the pics. That's what watching the Yankees feels like at times. Need a burn unit every time Brown touched the ball.

He is done. I'd make a crack about him bribing Dr. Andrews to make the diagnosis (rotator cuff tendinitis), but after today not in good mood. Not in good mood at all.

Pavano likely out for season

Ten million, for just about nothing. And I can't even blame Pavano (what? Yankee pitchers don't have arms!) for the FO blowing big bucks, banking on him repeating a too good to be true 2004 year.

Wright might be back next week. They shouldn't pull on fans' legs like this.

Im sure Yankee fans are happy about that.

We're just thrilled about it.

Who knew, $300K can uy us a better pitcher than $16 Million.

I have this feeling that Small is going to the BP. If anything Leiter should come up with the short end of the stick, but if they don't DFA him, he's not going into relief because of his control problems/walks. But if Small can get Sturtze and Gordon relief (and Rivera!), then I wouldn't be so opposed to the idea. Small should be starting, he's earned his spot.

Word on Pavano is six weeks, but expect entire year.

odds are on ESPN that there will be another sox/yanks fight in the offseason, this time trying to acquire aj burnett

I read somewhere that the yanks may be going after Jarrod Washburn harder because he has proven himself in the AL (unlike Pavano or Wright), so we will have to wait and see.

Go ahead. Might be quite interesting to see a Pavano-Burnett showdown? I'd be pissed if Burnett even managed to stay healthy for an entire season. Grr. ;)

Washburn...Angels, right? I don't think Anaheim's looking to make any moves unless they can gain a substantial edge against Oakland. We don't have anything to trade. Not this year, anyways.

No. The Giants would want too much, and we have only a bag of chips and some flat soda. A lot of teams looked at Schmidt this year, a lot of teams that have a lot more to offer and better chances to acquire him.

I think, perhaps only can hope, that the Yankees are heading into a new direction after this year. It didn't work out. Maybe it's a good thing ten years down the line, after some rebuilding. Meh. Building an entire team out of FA doesn't work. A couple to plug in some holes, add some depth, that helps, but this is a disaster.

I was talking about in the offseason off of Free Agency.

Embree had not allowed a hit to any of the last 11 batters he faced before Konerko homered

I find it funny George reffered to him as "that lefty".

There's no way Torre is managing that team in 2006, if the Yankees get eliminated from contention he may not even make it through the rest of this season.
