The San Diego Padres first baseman confirmed that he has been traded to the Rangers for right-hander Chan Ho Park. Nevin says he will fly to Toronto on Saturday where the Rangers play the Blue Jays.

This trade really makes no sense to me at all. The Rangers are hurting for SPers to they trade away one of the few that was getting results for them.

Rangers already have the offense, #1 on the list for texas is starting pitching---so yea Im scratchin my head on this one that they give up Park for a 1st baseman when they already have a 1st baseman in the all-star form of mark texeira

Dump Park, trade bait ( maybe ).

This is one of the stupidest trades I've seen the Rangers make. You already put up 6 RUNS a game and you probably end up giving 7, so why are you not adding pitching? Texas might as well go ahead and throw in the towel.

Nevin has no roster spot in Texas, and they desperately wanted to get out of Park's 65M$ contract. Nevin wants to be close to home in San Diego, and the Dodgers are reportedly shopping either Weaver or Lowe. I'm betting Nevin isn't finishing the season in Dallas.

Chan Ho Park was a DISASTER of an investment for the Rangers, disaster. 61 mil, and he had about 22 wins since signing that contract. An albatross that is about as productive as KB was.

Oakland is surging - Anaheim faces the Yankees whom they own - so not likely that Texas will stay in the race.

I think thats most likely why this trade was made. If they don't move him for some pitching before tomorrow this trade makes absolutly no sense.
