Wow. For all the talk about Hanley Ramirez, he's behind 3 other Red Sox players, and barely cracks the top 10 in that list.

Pretty good for us. Good thing is we are pretty much set for the next few years. Sucks for the Yankees though, They got only 2 people woth mentioning. And it's gonna get worse for them as they keep signing big name players like they have been, which makes them lose draft pics. They are gonna be like the devil rays are now in 5 years, just without the farm system.

This is true, but the second best farm system in the division, plus the ownership comitment/money to fill wholes, this should make us more dangerous than the Yankees for the upcoming seasons. The Red Sox won't ever outspend the Yankees, but I've been saying for years that it's not the money you spend, it's HOW you spend it. We've got quite a few impact players coming soon: Pedroia, Ramirez, Papelbon, Lester, Declarman while the Yankees have Cano already here, and Duncan a possibility.

 

Also, considering our farm system is stronger than Baltimore and Toronto as well, we should at least be in contention for the division every year for a while.

 

For the first time in a long time, the future in Boston looks bright.

It's nice to see the sox have a halfway decent minor league system. I guess having a prospect-smart GM can really help your team out in the long run.

You can really go beyond the farm system as well and tell that we have a bright future. I mean, look at the way Jeremi Gonzalez is pitching and the improvements that Kevin Youkilis can make to our club. I'm also really excited to see what some of these prospects can do. In Tampa was the first time I've seen Delcarmen pitch besides looking at his numbers & I have to say that I was really impressed.

I still think they will. Just look at them now, they might have all the money, but look what they are spending it on. Carl Pavano turned out to be nothing so far, Wright is probably gone all season, and Brown should just retire. Brown makes 15 million a year and he hasn't done s***. They have nothing in CF. There system of crap. No one wants to trade with them. Free agent pickups cost them high draft picks. They're screwed.

True but the reason they were'nt traded for a 3 month rent a player at the deadline... Stienbriener was banned from baseball. Since Steinbriener has taken control of the team again they have acted like the farm system means nothing.

I think the Yanks are going to have to do the same rebuilding program as the Sox went through. Maybe it'll happen after Gerorge retire's or gives up control. Personally, I don't think that'll happen until he's physically incapasited.
