yankthis: I was watching "Sixteen Candles" - and your user name just reminded me of the line, "No more yankie my wankie. The Donger need food."

Wonder if Steinbrenner would be interested in a foray into reality television on YES?

Oh yeah, back to "fixing the Yankees" - anyone have any ideas, post 'em. When the real deals hit the fan, will be posting. Lots of speculation on Cashman, Stick Michael and Tampa faction's moves, but so far they've rejected more deals than entertained. Such as Baez for Duncan. Phew. And the Griffey Jr. thing that's done (as in not).

Wow Aaron Small is doing alright, he just won his second start today, not bad for a guy who hasnt pitched in awhile, plus it did help him with Minnesota's fluttering offense led by the weepy boy Boone (did I really suggest him to be our 2nd baseman?? haha). Yanks beat Minnesota 6-3, Small lasted 7 innings giving up 6 hits, 3 runs, and striking out one

Good. Another little guy to show us how stupid we were to throw all that cash to guys that were just going to end up on the DL.

Rock on, Small, rock on...!!

Edit: Maybe I'll like the Al Leiter story, too...after sixteen years, guy ends up back where he started.

AWW! :D Now, win!

This season is shaping up into "E! True Hollywood Story"... :o

Despite my hate of the yankees, I like the Aaron small story. Hasn't pitched in 9 years and then comes back and wins.

um...hes pitched in the past 9 years..just hasnt started in 9 years, he was with the Marlins last year

Err - but we don't need a 2B man. Cano's hitting well, and when he gets more field work he'll do better with the glove.

26 to 6: What do you think about going after Canseco? He'd fit in great with Sheff and Giambi, right? And how about Jennie Finch for some pitching? VH1 could start a show, "Surviving Kevin Brown" - all we'd ask for in return is a bag of chips and a carbonated drink. There'd have to be an on-set chiropractor, and BBB's not real "bendy" - so the pole stuff or whatever that Conseco tried would not work...(it's only as distrubing as seeing him pitch).

i think if Canseco came anywhere near the South Bronx, he'd get shot just for starting all that s*** about Roger...and if he didnt get shot, hed be on the DL in about a day, his first AB hed get plunked in the head, the players association would offer rewards to those who injured Canseco hah

As for Jennie.....i LOVE Jennie, she could be our ace as well as an "insperational leader" of sorts in the clubhouse ;)

Too bad hrr dirtbag husband is in the DBacks system, otherwise i would reccomend it to Cashman and Stick hahaha

Wait, didn't Canseco say that Clemens was the only guy in baseball not to cheat on his wife? Better yet, I'd like to see Clemens drive that burnt orange Hummer down South Bronx...

I know you would like to see her in pinstripes (and you pervs would want to see her out of it, too). Who was the one Mets player's wife who said if he ever cheated, she'd sleep with the entire clubhouse? :o

Canseco would draw free walks, because half of the pitchers would bean him up! Been having problems with RISP, but the more ppl you can load the bases with, the better?

Can you imagine facing the O's...Palmeiro?

He would NOT be the answer in the OF though, AGREED! ;)

yes, he did say that Clemens was one of th only players never to cheat on his wife (go roger).

Yes, i would like to see her in and out of pinstripes.

Anna Benson, wife of Mets pitcher Kris Benson made that statement, but later said that she was just making a statement, that she wouldnt go that far.

Canseco (who if he was ever allowed to come back wou not be in the Players Association) would DEFINATELY get beaned all the time...which yes, i guess, would mean that we would have more guys on base (i think that he would get hit evein if the bases were loaded lol haha).

And no, i dont want to picture him facing the O's and Palmeiro, because after he gets hit, he has to go to first base...which is where Raffy will be waiting ;) ...that wouldnt be very pretty

MLBPA has so much leverage these days *cough* Rogers' appeal, sure something could be hammered out?

Oh don't tell me you're not even slightly curious as to the conversation that might transpire between the two? I don't have a vendetta against Palmeiro - pssh, I can imagine an Oriole pitcher checking back to first FIVE times even though Canseco is no threat to steal...

Back to question, it fixes the Yankees because yes, it just might be the winning plunk!

Btw, I think Sheff is hitting .390 something with RISP. Sick stat. Have Canseco on base, and there you go. Got any tips for Jeter?

na trust me, the players would go on strike if he was allowed in the PA again, he did horrible things for the MLBPA and MLB...but that doesnt mean he cant play again (Kevin Millar, Matt Herges, etc..)

...im curious of the conversation that would insue between the two...if there is a conversation at all, i think that Raffy will skip the verbal part and just beat the s*** out of him.

I hope your not serious with this Canseco thing, the first time he was here he barely played and the Yanks admitted it was a bad move, now you think they should get him again?...It would be a lot worse for him considering what has happened with all the Canseco Contreversy..and plus, hed get suspended, hes still juicin'

Stop buying Championships! Find ball players, not all-stars past their prime.

OR

Release all players except A-Rod & Jeter. Have Jeter f*** A-Rod until he gets prego. Then repeat over and over. Sign all of their off-spring.

I saw "Sports Century" on Curt Flood today - the guy who players today can thank for their big contracts - and it cost him his career.

Yesyes, I'm just being silly; not much to talk about in trades until another two days, if anything, if another team's FO helps us come to our senses about some of the most ridiculous transactions that would've happened had they been completed.

I read a piece on Steinbrenner in the current "ESPN the Magazine", and there's a little piece on how...

Cashman was working on a deal for Vlad to NY, and Steinbrenner was intent on signing another player - I think it was Sheffield - and told Cashman to end negotiations.

Now, there's no telling if the deal would've happened even if it ran due course...but we got a chance at Vlad? WHAT?! THAT would've fixed this team a lot, a whoooole lot.
