Word on the street is that Alan Embree was designated for assignment on July, 19 after a sorry season in the Sox pen Embree was responsible for a handful of Sox losses this season and the dynamic duo of Embree Timlin is now gone. What do you all think about this? I'm not losing any sleep.

Unless the Yankees trade for him, I doubt Theo would allow Embree to just leave as a free agent, he'll get a PTBNL for him.

probably, Embree obviously wont opt to go to the minors, and youre right, Theo wont take the chance of letting him go out on the market, so trading him makes sense....i was just saying IF he was available

yea sure you can take him if you want, no complaints from us. Yanks have been doing great so far acquiring picthers with ERAs over 7 as in May and Redding, and they did all star pitching for your team.

I'm relieved for all of us, him included, that we won't need to watch him come in and struggle and blow games or put Sox further behind. HOWEVER, I am eternally grateful for Alan's incredible contributions last year and in 2003. Let's not lose sight of what a remarkable season last year was. It probably couldn't have happened without Embree and for that I'll always be in his debt and all RS Nation should as well.
