Sox take a look at old friend El Guapo

The Boston Herald reported that former Red Sox pitcher Rich Garces recently auditioned for Sox scouts in Fort Myers, where he is working out. Garces pitched well this winter, posting a 2.08 ERA in the Venezualan winter league. Although a Sox official gave the 34-year-old Garces a "1-in-10,000" chance of rejoining the team, Garces reportedly was throwing the ball well. Garces, who spent seven seasons in Boston and has a career ERA of 3.74, hasn't pitched in the majors since 2002.

 

 

Ok, so 1-in-10,000 is a long shot. But hell lately that's been the odds that any reliever we be able to hold a lead.

i think they should definitley take a chance with el guapo

probaly isnt going to be worse than embree and it will get the fans attention

sign him to a minor league contract and realease him or send him down if he doesnt do good

I love ( as a baseball player) Rich Garces, but I don't think he's what we need right now... I doubt he will be in shape to ever return to the majors..
