I knew Timlin was going to come in and give up that run, I think all of New England knew it. Can we just have have Embree pitch an inning then have Timlin pitch the next? Why does Timlin come on all the time with runners on, if he always let's them score.

Just remember GoYankees. It took an 8 game streak and some bad games by us for you to crawl within a game of us.

That logic is retarded. It took 47 wins, we're a game and a half out. The fact that we've been hot lately does not demerit the accomplishment. Stop trying to rationalize it, our season has been just as successful as yours to this point.

Good game by both teams. Glad to see A-Rod finally get a clutch hit against the Sox. Hopefully rest of the series will be this exciting. (and the outcomes are the same, lol) No really very good baseball game tonight.

What the f*** is going on yeszir, please tell me you are banning these butt load of Yankee fans that feel the need to join all of a sudden, right? I'll make sure to send those two email addresses something, as well.

Some deleted, ip bans, username bans, some ims sent. The whole deal. I may go all out and ban ALL yankee fans, regardless of what they've done, for a few days so we can have some sane discussion around here.

Why is it a problem when we win against you guys, but when you win we can post all we want ? I wasn't trying to rub it in was just commenting on a good baseball game. You Red Sox fans need to get off your high horse.

It's a problem when 10 people with names similar to REDSOXFNSUCK and REDSOXSUCCCCKKKKKKKKKKK sign up in one day. No offense to you, but if it means eliminating the COMPLETE morons who sign up here on a daily basis, some casualties of war could be accepted, so to speak.

You haven't changed a bit.

"Huge chance of failure says the Yankee fan." Like I said, Schilling closing is a terrible idea. Maybe he picked up a few pointers from Rivera dominating the top of the order.

Nice win in game one, but the Wang injury is very scary. Must win tomororw with Unit on the mound.

Edit- f*** Redding is going tomorrow. Ok so a win tomorrow would be nice, but no expectations with it.

Redding is a joke. It's why tonight's game was a must win.

I guess I could have worded it better, I just looked down and saw a few of those names at the bottom and still feeling emotion from the game I said that. It probably should have been said: "yeszir, what is going on with the Yankee fans I see at the bottom and their offensive Sox user names, joining... is something going to be done?"

I'm sure you know what that feeling as a Yankee fan of losing is like. Just try to imagine losing that game 7-2 at your place when David Wells was pitching for our guys earlier this year and your emotions after that loss, that's probably what I felt like after this game.

Yeah, after sleeping on it, it was still one of the more pathetic games of the year. I mean, to blow a 4 run lead, thats just not good. I dont really like the direction we are headed right now.

ok i dont know why everybody is downplaying curt's closer abilities, terry just brought in curt so he could have a spotlight moment, in a tied game. I think tito and the sox shouldve brought in curt steadily with starting him off to an inning where a sox has a lead and then ease along to the tougher situations. plus the game wouldve been different if not for the yankee loving umpire calling their ankle-high pitches as strikes, and when our boys would throw exact same picthes they were "balls"

just several more bad decisions on titos part, keeping embree into the 8th inning when timlin was ready to go in, 3 pitches and gives off a double to jorge (with one-run lead he shoudl have had mueller by the 3rd base line!!). so tito brings in timlin with a man in scoring position (deja vu anyone?) gets the 3 outs but at same time another inherited runner is scored off of timlin. sox would have had a chance in bottom of the 8th inning if not for the f***in umpire calling ankle high pitches by the yankees as strikes. with the 9th inning a tied game, i really thought it would be best for timlin to come in, rather than tito calling in schilling for his spotlight moment. his first relief appearance for the sox shouldve been same as in pawtucket, bring him in when there is already a manageable lead. aside from all that mess, the silver linings were ortiz belting one to give the sox a short lead, trot hitting his 2nd homerun in 2 games which gave the 4-0 lead at the time, and millar who had good offense numbers than we have seen.

i think bellhorns confidence has gone down even moreso since they signed alex cora, rumors on nesn and radio, etc. talking about bellhorn's time could be cut down with alex cora coming on board. his batting average continues drop and with 0-3 stint last night, is now at season low .218

At least Cora can move the runners into scoring position with no outs vs. a strike out. It's the least the number 9 batter could do.

I agree 100% with this post.

Tito does not have the skills to be a manager.

It is just a matter of “when” not “if” he is going to be an ex-manager of the Red Sox.

I agree that keeping Embree into the 8th inning was a mistake, especially that the bullpen had three days of rest.

“Schilling as closer” this is very exciting for fans and media, but any smart manager will find it stupid to send a pitcher with an ERA of over 8.xx to the mound in the 9th inning against the Yankees best batters in a tie game!

In my opinion, since June 29th, the Red Sox had lost 5 games because of Tito’s idiocy.

I have reached a point, where I no longer enjoy watching any Red Sox game because I am tired of watching Tito’s stupidity in action.

Theo, please, please, please, do not extend his contract!!!

OK, Bellhorn can be the media whipping boy, but's your being a f***ing moron if you think Francona is this team's problem.

Tito doesn't have the skills to be a manager? I don't think so either, cause only bad managers win WS rings.

Schilling needs to be on the mound, he thrives in those situations. I think he just needs some time to pitch in the bullpen.

Cora has not had a hit yet. He hasn't made contact. How the hell does that move runners along? And he doesn't even take a lot of walks.

No, but his track record indicates that he doesn't strike out. Cora struck out 41 times last year, Bellhorn probably struck out 41 times in April.
