Theo's got to have something up his sleeve. One think he has never been as our GM was passive. He's not afraid to take risks (ala Nomar).

I say desinate Halama and bring up Lester or DiNardo. Give him the next two weeks and see what he's capable of. Try to fill those spots from within. If he absolutely sucks, try to make a move.

It just seems that with Papelbon, Lester, and Declarman dominating the minors ONE of these guys could contribute this year.

You're absoulety right, even if the 3 kids fail, I'll still give them credit for trying. Anyone is better then Embree right now.

even my mom?

you havent seen her pitch?

I think your mom's slow fastball might baffle a hitter looking for something quicker. Embree's "slider" is just a fastball at 80 mph.

sadly his fastball comes in at 94-5mph and goes out at 100mph..

I have been convinced about a couple of these prospects, but they are years away from being in the bigs, and last night proved again that in the pinch our bullpen is a disaster.

embree sucks the high hard one, timlin is good but man, he clears the bases when he comes in, schilling is not and ill never be the closer.

we all know there is some blind insane loyality in the management of this team, and reality says that smellhorn and fat ass millar will be here for the rest of the year whether some us like it or not.

that probably goes for embree though he is just so bad, we should cut him.theo makes his moves, intelligently and not based on emotiion like I would.

we've seen the todd jones, leskanic, myers pickups in the past and would think we will see that kind of thing soon.

Some prospects are years away, but others (Papelbon, Declarmen, Alvarez, and Lester) should be ready now.

This wouldn't be that bad. Throw in Youkilis to play some third and some first to spell the two vets (Olerud and Mueller), and you've got yourself a lineup. I think it's a little unrealistic to expect Schilling in the rotation anytime soon, but swap him and Arroyo and you've still got a solid staff. Then, when Schilling is ready, swap again.

Take a look at who the youngsters you listed here (Papelbon, Lester) would be replacing: Embree, Gonzalez, and Halama? Bitch please. They won't be lights out, but I would expect ERAs less than 7 on both accounts.

On that note though, I might give Declarman a shot before Papelbon or Lester. He's already a reliever, so no acclimation to a new role is necessary. We may want to bring DiNardo back and promote Lester to AAA before throwing him DIRECTLY into the fire...

We could always bring Cla Meridith back (elsrbueno avoids bottles being thrown at his head)

I think Declarman needs more time to figure out how to throw strikes...from what I understand he is a little wild although has good velocity (too much like Mantei at this point). I woulnd't be against bringing up DiNardo or Alvarez. Either or both to replace my idea about Lester but my first choice would be Papelbon.

Either way I think it's worth a shot.
