Anibal Sanchez (2.40 ERA in 78.7 innings, 10.9 K/9, 2.7 BB/9, 4.0 K/BB, 0.8 HR/9) to AA Portland.

Papelbon I knew was outstanding and was gunna make it up...

 

But I had heard very little about Sanchez. Looks like we got a player :clap:

 

Hopefully he can continue that success throughout the minors and make an impact on our big league team in the next few years.

I've read a lot of articles saying Papelbon may get a shot to help the Red Sox as a reliever as soon as this season. Of course, none of them had quoted any decision makers as saying so, but with the market for relief pitchers very thin, it's not completely out of the question. Watching his progress at Pawtucket should be interesting.

I've been hearing the same things but about both Papelbon and Hansen when he is signed. I remember when a guy named K-Rod showed up and was a big part of the reason for the Angels winning the World Series.
