The way I see it is this-you guys are sox fans so you think that we have no team chemistry and that are players don't play to win. ********,********,******** If any one is having chemistry problems its you guys. I'm telling you Schilling is ripping your team a part.

So you got the BALLS to come back over during the All-Star break, huh? When was the last time your team lead the AL East anyway... April? And don't come back with the response that you'll be ahead by the end of our series, you know your team can't win at Fenway (or Yankees Stadium for that matter).

No comma after 'that', *******.
Congratulations, have a cookie.

You need a poll to figure out that people hate Sheffield? Do you think the Brewers pitchers, whom he criticized for not protecting him, liked him? Or Bill Spiers after Sheff said he only got the SS job because of race? And while it's not teammate related, do you think the guy that grazed him with a bullet liked him? Hell, I bet Kevin Brown, whom he crticized in LA hates him -- but fortunately, I don't believe Brown throws his teammates under the bus like Sheff did by calling Giambi a crybaby.

And you know the fans hate him -- or did you turn a deaf ear to his being booed louder than everybody but Kenny Rogers (And really, it only took assaulting cameramen to steal the crown of 'Most Hated: ASG 2005' away from Sheffield)? Hell, even more amazing than that is that he hasn't even burnt any bridges in Detroit yet and they seem to hate him as much as us Sox fans do, or the Dodgers fans probably do, or the Brewers fans etc. Man, those Tigers fans sure can "find fault in anything", eh? You don't need scientific polls to discover that the guy is an ******* who's burnt bridges everywhere he's been.

People are more than entitled to hate him, but people are f***ing stupid. That is a fact proven over and over again. He's said dumb s*** before, I'm sure. So have a whole bunch of players, even on the Red Sox. I think the attitude he has at this point in his career is a good one. He speaks his mind, so does Schilling. He called the World Baseball thing a gimmick. I know not many people have balls to say that, but that's what it is. He doesn't want to risk the job he's being paid for to do something that is useless. If you are a construction worker, you don't have to play in the company golf outing if you think you'll be hurt and miss work. Why is that any different?

I agree, Sheffield used to be an idiot. But I think the way he is now is pretty much the example of the on the field characteristics you want.

I'll give you this one. As for you, BrentD22 -- stupid question. Why on earth would you think a Yankees fan would care about a players character and off-field issues so long as he produces on the field? As for him 'playing to win the game' -- every man on the Red Sox 'plays to win the game' -- it's needed to overcome seemingly impossible odds as they did last year -- and they didn't have one guy in that lockerroom that carried the type of baggage that Sheff does.
Hate to burst your bubble, but every player on the Red Sox does not play to win all the time. In fact, most players in the Major Leagues don't play to win all the time. It's tough to define, but I guess the easiest way to put it is Sheffield always plays 100%, whether he's hurt or not he will give all he can. I admire that fortitude. Guys like Sheffield, Jeter, O'Neill, Matsui and Rivera who always go out and give you 100% are the guys I like.

Not really. I defended his actions just like I defended Ron Artest's. What kills me is when Yanks fans say 'when the guy punched him' or 'Sheffield showed restraint'
Well first off, yes the guy did punch Sheffield in the face. He showed a bit of restraint, but not much. Regardless, it is besides the point. There is no reason for Sheffield to be put into that position, the fan has to keep his hands to himself. If the Red Sox fan wasn't such an idiot, the whole thing would have been avoided.

As every GM is taught -- always blow young talent for an overpaid primadona who's nothing more than a proven loser.
Soriano was 28 when traded, Rodriguez was 29. Soriano has 0 World Series rings, Rodriguez has 0. Rodriguez has better numbers all around as compared to Soriano. What the f*** are you talking about?

Out produced as in -- 'has won less Championships than'? If so -- then yes, that's correct. Have him show up to a big game and then we'll talk.
No I mean the Red Sox infield has 20 homers, and Rodriguez alone has 22.

And ending your argument in a quote from Chappelle's Show. What more intelligent of a way to end a conversation than that? Why not throw an 'I'm Rick James, Bitch' in there for good measure, next time. Or better yet, just revert to the classic Yankees fan argument of '26-6!'
Merely pointing out the stupidity of the post. The only way that rambling could have made sense was if he was on coke.

And let's say you do make the playoffs this year --I hope for your sake that your team doesn't try and play with both hands wrapped tightly around their necks again, momentarily releasing their grip only to cheat the game and karate chop the opponents pitcher.
This is what I mean when I say, people are f***ing stupid. That has no material value and is simply there to get on the nerves of any Yankee fan. No response makes it look like you won the argument, and a normal response would be about the same caliber of intelligence which is around a 48 IQ.

Every post is "Yankee fans are so dumb." "They took steroids, A-Rod cheated." "CHOKERS!"

Is that really the extent of your intelligence?

yeah ok arod like you yank fans dont make fun of same thing concerning at the red sox fans (1) up until last year yanks always reminded us it hadnt been since 1918 sox won their last series (2) 1978 season in which sox were 13.5 games ahead of yanks but werent able to hold that big lead, (3) 2003 ALCS in game 7 boone getting the walkoff homerun against wakefield (4) chanting loudly in the playoffs at pedro, "whos your daddy" (5) the fact that yankees have won 26 world titles while sox are just at 6, etc. the point is that i can go on and on with what yanks fans have pushed in sox fans' faces throughout the decades of this rivalry...

Apparently your team can't either lately. You loss two series in a row at home. Yes I have balls and I've been here the whole damn time since before the break. yes I'll admit we started slow and its been awhile since we were in first place, but i bet its not been as long as the last time you got laid(farm animals and relatives don't count, either).

Yes, but the downplaying of the Yankees is mindless, childish garbage. If you've got a legitimate problem against the Yankees, that's cool. I'd love to hear your opinions about them. However, all this repetitive crap about steroids and choking just deters from the quality of the message board. It is a shame a lot of people resort to that, because it ruins a lot of the intelligent conversation.

arod2212, post above mine from a fellow yankee fan of yours, shows what you said has no merit. B)

Are you kidding me? Your are correcting See Red's grammar and attempted to give him a cookie. You are a complete joke, stop standing up for your boy Sheffield and realize that he has cheated the game and making stupid remarks. I mean, are you honestly going to go Sox fan by Sox fan picking out little things for your stupid mind to correct? Are you going to go back over my entry 15 times trying to find errors?

The spelling bee? Is that what the infamous ARod2212 does outside talksox :

P.S. YANKEESRULE: I've never been on a farm in my life, besides when I visited Arkansas with my church. Take all the shots at Texas that you want, in the end you completely ignored the fact that i mentioned we are still ahead of you and have been for the majority of the year. I'm not going to get into the whole state smack, because that doesn't have anything to do with baseball, but Noo Joisey? C'mon.... all that polluted waste is getting to your head.

How so??? Last I remembered, the last team he ripped apart was the Yankees  ...he hasn't been here to "rip our team apart"

So what are you talking about??? :dunno:

People are more than entitled to hate him, but people are f***ing stupid. That is a fact proven over and over again.

Way to change your argument. I see you've backed off of wanting that scientific poll proving that Sheff is a hated man. I've given enough reasons to hate him, and there's more. And to be honest, they're all perfectly acceptable. And yes, everytime you post, you prove your theory to be correct. People are f***ing stupid.

He's said dumb s*** before, I'm sure. So have a whole bunch of players, even on the Red Sox. I think the attitude he has at this point in his career is a good one.

Did he not come out and say that if the Yankees were to trade him, he'd be a cancer in any lockerroom he's sent to? Yep. That sure is a great attitude that I suggest all Major League players adopt.

He called the World Baseball thing a gimmick. I know not many people have balls to say that, but that's what it is.

Great. When can we expect him to speak out about Alternate jerseys being used as a way to create more revenue? The HR Derby is a gimmick -- when can we expect him to call the MLB out on that obvious fact? It takes real 'balls' to speak against the MLB when you have the world's strongest union behind you.

Hate to burst your bubble, but every player on the Red Sox does not play to win all the time. In fact, most players in the Major Leagues don't play to win all the time.

No, the majority of players play to win. Some have alterior motives, but in the end, nobody likes to lose. They know that winning defines you as an athlete.

He doesn't want to risk the job he's being paid for to do something that is useless. If you are a construction worker, you don't have to play in the company golf outing if you think you'll be hurt and miss work. Why is that any different?

Interesting attitude for a man that's competed in three seperate HR Derby's to take on. No? He doesn't have to compete and I'd prefer he not -- but some players take pride in representing their countries which is something they currently don't get to do. Like I said -- I hope he doesn't compete as I'd prefer not to be represented by a piece of steroid manufactured bulk like himself.

Yes -- it was an open fisted punch that swiped the side of his face. And upon jumping back, another fan accidentally knocked the beer over on purpose...

Soriano was 28 when traded, Rodriguez was 29. Soriano has 0 World Series rings, Rodriguez has 0. Rodriguez has better numbers all around as compared to Soriano. What the f*** are you talking about?

A-Rod's numbers certainly haven't been $18 million better than Soriano's. Alfonso was good for a .300 average, around 40 HR's and 40 SB's, and 100 RBI's and certainly wasn't the primadona that A-Rod had shown to be at the time of the trade. Sheffield hits .452 with a runner on 2nd -- can you possibly imagine the pressure Soriano puts on a defense with his 40 steals hitting before Sheffield and the pitches Soriano (and even Sheffield) would be given to hit? Give me the lineup of Jeter, Soriano, Sheffield... over one with A-Rod. Especially for $18 mill less.

No I mean the Red Sox infield has 20 homers, and Rodriguez alone has 22.

The Red Sox infield has rings. I wonder which is more important to them. :dunno:

A-Rod's a proven loser. He's shown no ability to carry a team on his back and everywhere he's left has improved. He can hit all the HR's he pleases in the regular season -- but until he shows up to a big game, comes through in a big spot, he's not a player I'd want on my team. George pays money to win, right? To pay $25 million to a man who hasn't shown the ability to do that, and has, infact, shown just the opposite impact on a team, is dumb no matter how you look at it.

... is that really the extent of your intelligence?

I would say it's safe to assume that my intelligence, whether inside, or outside, of the realm of sports, far surpasses yours. For one, because I don't hang around, for lack of a better term, my teams biggest rivals message board while being ass hurt whenever my team is slighted or insulted.

Fact of the matter is, if Sheffield were on the Sox, ARod2212 would be calling him the bane of all existance, while some idiot in here would be defending him. He's a schmuck, plain and simple. The only people who have ever defended him were some of the fans of the team he is on or his friends and family.

because of all the arguments about who should be closing. Plus he's a arrogant ass you can't keep his f***ing mouth shut. he thinks his s*** don't stink and he's a prissy little faggot.

Nope, riverside sluggers, all I here is three little eight year old girls with Yankee t-shirts on trying to make their point, arguing that cheating the game is alright. As well as one of them ripping Schilling because he backs up what he says.

Making 55,000 New Yorkers shut up? Check. It doesn't matter what he says, he'll back it up, so until then, YANKEESRULE and other dumbasses will whine about it.
