It's great and all that you feel the need to give yourself the curtain call to the crowd after going 3-for-4 with a HR, but let's be honest here... I'm hitting .286 with the Yankees as well. Just sit in the dugout after you have a good game and save yourself the embarrassment.

P.S. It's great to be back and the Yankees STILL suck.

Seriously, dude. You are one of those ignorant jerkoffs who give Red Sox fans a bad name. If you hate the team go ahead and hate them but why feel the need to bash a guy because he is thanking the fans for giving him a standing ovation?

Personally, I'd criticize any player that saw fit to do a curtain call after a good, but not spectacular, performance like Matsui's. If every player did that, curtain calls would occur so often that they'd lose all meaning.

And for the record, calling somebody whom you've never before met an 'ignorant jerkoff' based on one comment he made makes you seem like an ignorant jerkoff. Especially when said comment was an opinion.

I agree with my fellow Sox fans on this one. I just don't feel it right to give a curtain call for a tiebreaking home run in the 7th. Save it for something spectacular. It also bugged me when Cano did it in the game against the Sox the last time they faced. If you tie it in the 9th, you can do it, but not in the 7th.

Actually, it just wasn't based on one post or comment. I've seen alot of stuff he's written on these boards and quite frankly he makes everything the Yankees do into a big deal. For someone who hates the Yankees, he sure loves to talk about them alot.

Welcome to reality. This is a Red Sox fan board and most of us (especially myself) hate the Yankees. So if for instance I see something about the Yankees that I don't like, I may post about it... especially if it comes to unnecessary curtain calls which is my eyes is showboating and is pathetic. I'm glad our organization ATLEAST has the class to celebrate the right way.

P.S. It seems we do have something in common, though: We both enjoy seeing Mariano Rivera on the field.

Lol, yep Mo is great. We like him for different reasons of course but last time he did get past you guys and has pitched fantastic, unhittable practicaly as of late. I'm not here to cause trouble, just venting I guess.

What a lot of you Sox fans fail to realize is that the curtain calls are a Yankee tradition. They have been doing it forever. Its a New York thing between the fans and the team. It isn't disrespectful to other teams it would be disrespectful if the players didin't do it. I remember when the Cardinals came to town and Tino hit a homerun for the Cards and the Yankee fans wanted him to do a curtain call. I have not heard one Manager or one player gripe about it. hell this is the first time I've read or heard of nay baseball fans complain about it. Hideki had a homerun drought an dwhen he started hitting them at home the fans wanted one. Why should they stop just because miserable Sox fans think its classless. If ya ask me the majority of the Sox players are f***ing classless. Throwing at players, starting fights, etc.

Yes, because the Yankmes never start fights, or hit batters, or slap at Bronson Arroyo like sissies, or anything. Perfect gentlemen. <_>

See my avator for response. Calling US classless when your team tries to CHEAT the game of baseball is stupid. What's a good guess... about 1/4 of your players are on the roids?

When was the last fight the Yankees started? If I remember correctly the last 3 yankee redsox fights the red sox started.

1st throwing at Karim Garcia which necceassarily didn't tech start the fight, but next inning a pitch that roger clemens threw high, which was nowhere near manny he came out and thought rocket was trying to hit him. Then, pedro throws a 75 year old man on the ground.

2nd -- When Bronson threw at A-rod and varitek started pushing A-rod. fight 2

3rd -- I dunno how it happned but I remember it was something about Pedro and Posada.

Okay, Arod slapped the ball out of his hand cuz Doug M was in the basepath. He was trying to get by without knocking Doug down. So yes, I think he was trying to be nice. It was wrong to slap the ball out of his hand but classless? I think not.

DOn't knock everything thing the Yankees do, there's alot of stupid things us Yankee fans hate about red sox besides their lack of class( The only classy people on the Sox are Ortiz,Damon and renteria).

Especially, when they hug and kiss each other after they do something good. That's just like the yankee fans wanting a curtain call from their players when they do something good. It's showing emotion, so what? Deal with it.

ohh, and as far as schilling's little comments yesterday about how the AL is scared of his return, and how the Yankees are nothing compared to the redsox. I say, BRING HIM ON. We already kicked the s*** out of him this year and made him cry in the dugout again.

I said I wasn't going to fight with you people but god, you people don't know when to quit.

Sorry, to all the other red sox fans on these boards that have nothing to do with this conversation.

I was out the particular game you guys are talking about and all the fans were chanting his name, not just because of the go ahead home run, but because he had a great week. By the way, why do all Red Sox fans hate curtain calls?

Hideki-san, playing with the gimpy ankle and all. Gotta give the man his props, and his streak is intact.

Curtain calls, roll call, I don't have a problem with any of that.

Umm just a guess.. Because their team never gets them? :dunno:

And it's the fans who ask for the curtain calls, not the players..

Ok we all know Pedro was a headhunting dick, we'll give you that. The man is a nut.

Bronson did not throw at A-Rod. It was a breaking ball, and the whole world knows it. Even Bronson said it was a breaking ball that didn't break and if he wanted to he could of thrown a fastball at him. Bronson hits alot of guys and his control is not good. A-Rod could of walked to first without being a whiny bitch. Varitek was doing something every cathcer would do, which is walk along and make sure the guy doesnt run out to the pitcher. And don't give me the V-Tek is a pussy theory cause he left his mask on. It happens fast and when you think someone is going to do something you go for it. no one is gonna be like "Wait a minute you look you are gonna hit me so i'm gonna take my gear off then i'll hit you."

the third one you mention goes along with the Manny, Pedro thing. Yeah, Manny overreacted a bit, but come on, we are not in the batters box when it happened, it could of easily looked to him as if he ball was going toward his head, but due to movement it did not.

Oh yeah, and the team is real classless, unlike you guys who fight f***ing grounds keepers who cheer there team on, take steriods, ask for a team to forfiet because they could not make the game because of a devestating hurricane, and even back in the past as i had read, made fun of a gay clubhouse attendent to the point he quit, have a pitcher who chokes a man from behind, a pitcher who breaks his hand on a wall, a right fielder who's head is so far up his ass he could choke on his f***ing prostate.

Yeah...

Yep, because if I'm on a team that is 3rd place in the division and is playing horrible we should give curtain calls every game and act like everything is alright. But that's fine, do what you want... your still behind us.

i didnt think so either...

and like Bam-Tino said its us that make the players give curtain calls, we cheer and chant and everythin until they give us one......

Bigppapienfuego, the groundskeeper wasnt cheering for his team he was bein a dick to the yankee relievers, and yea nelson probably should have ignored it its not like he went n picked a fight......and like you never made fun of a gay guy lol, also what does brownie breaking his hand have anything to do wit hclass....he was upset about his performance...and i appreciate what he did, it got him out of the rotation for a little while which is fine with me ;) and also ONE of our players knowingly took steroids, sheff did it when he was rehabbing and it was knee-creamits not like it was during the season...not that im exusing it im just saying, and it was years ago anyway...its ur starting pitcher who wears number 16 that wrote a book and happened to mention that he used cortisone more than he needed for added strength and took all sorts of enhancements

And it took you how many years to get there? :dunno: There are no fans that are harder on their team than Yankee fans. Think we sit back and just smile when we suck? No and believe me, we suck right now and we'll be the first to say it and let the players know it as well..

I'll give you guys one thing.. At least you don't have little miss Diva Pedro to deal with anymore.. A person who showed when he wanted, was late most of the time to the games.. Now that was class..

LMAO that was some funny s***.

and also ONE of our players knowingly took steroids

i gotta say i respect giambi. not for taking the roids, obviously but i respect how he handled the whole situation. i've caught a lot of s*** over that but oh well...

Double checking calender: Yup, we're a little ways away from being halfway done and your still playing like crap. And YANKEESRULE, was that 'not for long' response BEFORE Texas native and Tampa Bay starter Casey Fossum gave up only 1 run 3-hits and lead his team to a 5-4 victory against you pansies, or after it? *snicker* Yankees suck.
