Great stuff, and welcome to the board. This picture makes you realize why this guy is going to and should be a Sox player instead of a Yankee:

The Sox draft Jason Determann from LSU in the 35th round. This guy is a complete stud but he is probally off to medical school next year with his 4.0 GPA. If Boston can convince this guy to stay this will be a huge steal to get him in such a late round. He is a Maddux type pitcher who doesn't throw extremely hard but mixes up his speed and pitches very well. He was mostly a reliever for LSU with saves and a 6-0 record with a 1.86 ERA. He recorded 72 strikeouts and walked only 9.

I just came upon this very well written article, with a couple of quotes by jacoby, Idk if anyone has read this yet, if not, you should

While playing for the Falmouth (Mass.) Commodores of the Cape Cod League last summer, Ellsbury was invited to Boston for a workout with the Red Sox. While at Fenway Park, he picked up a Red Sox cap, which he said he has worn to the ballpark for every Beavers home game this season.

"I'm not superstitious, but it's been my lucky hat," he said. "And at the time, I didn't have a clue that Boston was interested in me. But the draft's a funny thing."

Neither have signed yet, Ellsbury because he's still playing and Hansen because he's a Boras client and the Sox are still internally debating whether to give him a major league deal as a reliever or a minor league deal and more cash to make him a starter. Personally, I prefer the latter because a dominant starter is more important than a dominant reliever. Papelbon made the switch flawlessly and Hansen has twice the talent. Besides, if he fails as a starter, he can always go back to relieving.
