He is awful I agree but that's why I tihnk Tito is starting to wise up and put him in games we will probably lose. He's turing into a Halama.

If there was a hack that made it possible to ban exclamation points and TERRIBLE grammar, I would implement it sooooooooooooooooooooooo fast.

I dont care about my grammar obvicously i skipped that class through high school. So shove it

As an admin I can't add you to my ignore list because then I wouldn't be seeing everything that goes on, but you can consider yourself ignored. Deal?!!!!!

I wish your location said New York instead of Maine, because then being a dumbass on your part would make sense. Being able to spell 'Wakefield' isn't that hard. It's not grammar, it's more like loving the team. You can skip through high school and still be able to spell names of our players, I smell bandwagon fan. I mean, you've had 10 years to learn to spell it...

BAN HIM!

okay, ugliness aside, let's be patient with Embree. I don't care if he's been bad, he can't get worse, and we know he's a good pitcher. We have a few players who are having a tough time. Should we dump Manny? Should we get rid of Foulke? Bellhorn? Wakefield? Let's just be patient.

Personally, I think we're lucky to only be down 4 games. I wish we had put more space between ourselves and the Yanks, but overall, not that big a deal.

I AM worried about the O's. They're a good team AND they're injured. They just have that "we aren't going to be intimidated by anybody" approach. That being said, they've had some close games with the Pirates and lost a number of games to the Tigers, so we'll see.

I am constantly encouraged by reading "Faithful" by Stephen King/Stewart O'Nan, as well as remembering the 2003 season. Teams go through long periods of just playing lousy ball. What's important is a) staying close enough so that a run is possible and B) staying injury free. Right now we have both. So that's good.

Dudes, I know how to spell Wakefield i was just typing to fast, plus my period button is busted, it dont work!

And yeah its a deal we can pretend im on your ignore list`

I am f***ing sick of this and I cant figure out why they keep using f***ing embree, he gets shelled every time out these days. It is getting ridiculous.

he is so sucking bad, it's a joke.

Posted

I'm sure all of you saw this in the globe this morning, thank God he is trying to work through this. and fortunately he has corrected some mechanical flaws, which should help.

Hah, what a bunch of ********, f*** him, I have a suggestion that might help....learn to f***ing pitch.

CHICAGO -- It was an odd scene in an odd season for Alan Embree. Amid a three-run Chicago seventh inning, with Embree pitching mop-up duty, Dave Wallace popped up out of the dugout and headed for the mound. Catcher Kelly Shoppach made a motion to join Wallace but was waved off by the Sox pitching coach, who put an arm around Embree and repeatedly, reassuringly, slapped the lefthander on the shoulder.

''A lot of people get on and off the bandwagon," Wallace said. ''He's going through a really rough time. I wanted to remind him that these are the times that make him better down the road. I just wanted him to keep that in perspective."

Embree, as a cerebral, veteran presence, usually isn't lacking in perspective. And he's usually not lacking on the mound, either. But, he's hit an alarming skid. Yesterday he allowed five hits, three for extra bases, in the seventh. Chicago plated three runs off him and might have had more had Corey Patterson's one-out single not hit base runner Neifi Perez for the second out.

Embree's ERA swelled to 7.00. In nine appearances since May 24 his ERA is 15.26 (7 2/3 innings, 13 earned runs).

''It's become a pride thing," Embree said. ''I take a lot of pride in my work. This is not how I want things to be going."

The 35-year-old Embree, whose contract is up at season's end, does not believe that is an issue.

''It's not something I've sat and worried about," he said. ''I'm too deep in my career. If it had been my fourth, fifth year, [possibly]. Don't kid yourself, I have to get it going, but it's not [like] I won't be able to find a job next year.

''I know I'll find a job. That's not just what I want. I don't want to be just a major league pitcher. I want to be a contributor. I want to keep playing at the level I'm capable of, and I'm not doing that right now."

It will take some time to deflate that ERA, but Embree said he can deal with that.

''Yeah, I have to look at it [his ERA] each day, but if we're in the playoffs and my ERA is 6 and I'm throwing well, I won't care what that number says," he said. ''I felt good today. I threw some good pitches. I threw one bad pitch I'd like to have back -- the breaking ball to [Todd] Hollandsworth [for a double]. That's the frustrating part -- I feel good now."

Embree said he corrected some mechanical flaws in his delivery involving his shoulder and head angle and expects that to help.

i don't know what the big deal is. the game was a lost long before embree got on the mound, it didn't really matter. it would have taken another handful of ortiz bombs to have made it a game.

the point of the matter is that he's a sox and we should support him. foulke on the other hand has an era of 6+, where is the bitching? we still use him in close situations, he still blows saves here and there, he still allows runs to score... wouldn't that be of a larger concern than a guy that eats up innings and allows the rest of our bullpen to have some sort of arm by the end of the season?

everyone here speaks as if they know how to pitch. it is extremely difficult to pitch, especially in the al east. i personally don't see how coming to an internet forum and bitching like a girl is going to help embree pitch better. sit back, enjoy the show, it's not even mid season yet.

I'd almost feel bad for Embree if he didn't suck so much ass. His ERA is 15.26 since May 24th. Ouch.

We want Lenny! CLAP CLAP CLAP-CLAP-CLAP!

Is Dinardo even in the organiziation anymore?

Yep, he's getting his innings in for Pawtucket like a good boy. Goddamnit, we need that scrawny little Italian.

Ther are two things I can count onduring a season, embree sucking and john being a pompous *******.

ha ha, your buttons are way too big and you have way too many of them. :harhar:

this is getting to be absurd.

embree is so f***ing bad!! I dont understand why they keep using this guy, he just sucks beyond belief.

what the f***? it just seems endless.

loyalty is one thing but this is out of hand.

this was in the globe.

I almost threw up...

Despite Hafner's home run, Embree said he felt more comfortable on the mound than at any time this season. "It feels like I'm getting back to where I was," Embree said after Boston's 10-9 win. "When I was missing, I wasn't missing by much."

so giving a two run home run almost costing us the game is an improvement?

the guy is 1-4 with 7.00+ ERA..he may have a point. Some one said it on here, and I agree-I am sick of hearing how he is feeling better, ready to improve, just let's get of the f***ing loser and get a reliever he can f***ing pitch (I think the same thing about foulke who just doesnt have it anymore and is a liability but I am not going to say it becasue you all will start going nuts) . Timlin cannot carry the bullpen--we need some arms.

how about that manny--he's in one of those hot spells.....He'll be up around .300 in no time at all.

wait end of july when trades will heat up, ill drop to teh floor if i hear embree is not traded off. im hoping we get lance cormier from the diamondbacks, him as a relief pitcher this season is doing so good, ERA is currently under 2
