Mirabelli On 15 day DL

With a wrist injury. According to BDD, Shawn Wooten is being called up to replace him.

 

I guess it makes sense they wouldn't call up Shoppach if he's only going to play every 5th day and have to catch Wake when he does. Too bad though, it would have been cool for Shoppach.

 

Anybody hear how bad the injury is?

From any of the Sox websites I look at, I haven't seen anything (just now checked). I blame it on Sports Illustrated, though...Mirabelli was in there quoting about the reasons he doesn't wear batting gloves. Frickin' SI jinx's.

They should have given Shopp a shot. That would have been sweet, especially since I've only been hearing great things about him recently.

Doug'll be fine. They made the right call on who to bring up to the big leagues, though. Shopp still needs to play everyday to get his consistency down. If this had happened after the All-Star Break, then Shopp would've been the better option, but it's only May and he needs to get in a rhythm.

I'd guess the Sox will activate the Belli for this weekend. It's been "10-14" days already. It's been 18 actually.

 

 

According to ESPN, he hurt himself swinging a David Ortiz bat. I jammed my fingre a few days ago and hav'ent missed a day of wokr. Lukciily it hasnt' affetcted my tying;;p
