this one turned ugly in a hurry.

maybe wells needs rehab, and to lose a few hundred pounds of fat, and add some muscle, and re-learn how to pitch......

Why does every player break out of their slumps against the Red Sox?

Wells got beat up early, giving up 7 runs in 1.1 innings, then Gonzalez gave up 3 ER in 3.2 innings, and halama gave up 3 runs in 2.0 innings. And the A's lead 13-6

Can someone explain to me exactly what happened? It sounds like I should be glad that I missed it.

You should be. A bad game all around.

I don't know why I watched the whole thing either... I guess that's what seperates us from Yankees fans. I didn't get home until the 5th inning, but looking at Wells' numbers, I can't imagine how much it looked like he struggled.

With tomorrow off and the Sox losing the last 2 series, I think people may start questioning keeping Millar over Youk at 1st. Youkilis' bat has proven that he deserves the start everytime out, and yet he still doesn't start regularly.

Yeah, but today's problems were because of Wells. I honestly believe that the only reason he's back so early is because he wants his inscentives. It's all based on innings ya know.

Just like he started the season, expect another bad start or two before he gets going.

I don't think there's any better proof than today that he needed a rehab start before coming back. Way to earn 1.1 innings.

You hit in the nail on the head, RedSoxRooter for TODAY'S game as far as Wells is to put the blame on, but game one and two of the series we left 13 men on and I believe 8 men on. In game one of the series we caught breaks and couldn't cash in, blame goes to the bats. Game two, our bats did the job. Game three, it took us 8 innings to get some runs. Add to the fact that we didn't face very good pitchers this weekend, and our bats didn't produce when they were practically trying to GIVE us runs is pretty bad.

Copied from my website, numbers prior to this series:

Let's hurry up and get an Atlanta thread going. It's officially gameday for interleague play in Boston. I'm ready to put the west coast and all of those stay up late, leave too many runners on, games behind us. Bring on the Braves!
