Hahaha. That's cool. You have to admit, though, he was pretty good in last night's game. That double, that could've been a homerun if not for the wind perhaps. And he didn't strike out last night except for that one time.

Is that Buffy and Spike in your avitar???

Its tough to say he is the best 2B in a league with Alfonso Soriano.

I'm in agreement with Yankees on this one. I'm baffled that Mark Bellhorn would be considered a top 2B in this league. I'd rank 'em

1. Alfonso Soriano TEX

2. Brian Roberts BAL (everyone forget him)

3. Bret Boone SEA

Probably Bellhorn at 6 or 7

Bret is terrible now.

Bellhorn is off to a slow start, but give me one reason why he won't be a very, very solid 2B by the 162nd game this year?

Mark Ellis - 2.0

Orlando Hudson - 1.8

Willie Harris - 1.4

Mark Derosa - 0.2

Nick Punto - -0.1

David Matranga - -0.3

I think he'll pick it up and will be just as good if not better than last year.

Biased opinon, come on he's really not that good and don't give me that Bill James sabermetrics s*** I hate VORP I wanna see numbers.... Average, HR's, RBI, RISP, and OBP

I might as well put in my two cents.....

Bellhorn did well last year hitting from the #2 spot. His numbers will not be as good this year but that doesnt mean he isnt good. I like his easy attitude and makes some decent plays. He fits in well with the team and I will forever be in his debt with his HR in game 6 against the Yanks and his HR against the Cards in game 1.

He is a good player to have as a #9 hitter. He makes a pitcher work when he gets to the end of the lineup and that is very important.

That is why I like Olerud over Millar cause he is a smart hitter. Good contact and does not swing at stupid s***. At least when Bellhorn strikes out....most of the time the pitch is a strike anyways...just horrible eye-hand coordination but what can ya do.

However....that side of the infield needs to get going cause we have the worst 2nd/1st combo in the AL apparently...statistically anyways.

I think that Bellhorn is the man you want on your club. He's quiet, shy and doesn't talk much... I mean he acts the same when he K's as he does if he just hit a homer... you can't break him! He doesn't overreact, (even though that's fun to see sometimes). I read this great article about him the other day, I can't find the URL though.

The only probalem I have with Bellhorn is so many of his K's are LOOKING I hate when people get K'd looking argueably one of my biggest pet peeves.

I'd give it my all out there too. That doesn't mean I wouldn't suck.

Look, Mark Bellhorn was arguably the most productive secondbaseman in the American League last season. That clearly won't be the case this year with the resurgence of Alfonso Soriano and the emergence of Brian Roberts. He's also clearly not hitting like he was last season. No one defended Bellhorn more than me last season and during the off-season. Hell, I was even a Bellhorn apologist. But, I will be very glad once Dustin Pedroia is ready to play an everyday secondbase for us and potentially lead off.
