What's that? It's the sound of the Red Sox season going down the toilet...

Come on Wake, we need a win today.

Well, better it happened now instead of August. It looks like the rotation will be back in form in a couple of weeks (including Miller), hopefully.. :(

f*** nuts. Now I am legitimately concerned about this season. We only have 3 starters on our roster right now and Clement has been very inconsistent. Now I am willing to give Clement some more time, but things are not looking good in Red Sox Nation right now.

not necessarily 3 man rotation, remmeber halama used to be a starter, and dont give up on them yet geez the yanks are sucking balls and the orioles wont keep it up without pitching....dont give up so soon

It's no surprise really that Schilling and Wells could hit the DL at the same time (their combined age, after all, is 81). Wells' major league debut was a day before I was Born.

Better that this happen early in the season rather than late, when we may be facing playoff relevant games.

Today's game is going to be a rain-out? Does that mean (with no game Thursday, unless I'm mistaken, which I could very well be) that Wakefield will be on the mound Friday? I have a vested interest since I'm going to Friday's game.

You call too near 10 run victories sucking balls?

Works for me. I give all the credit in the world to Schilling for the Sox' success last year, but I only get to see the Sox play about once every two years on average, and right now Wake gives me a better chance to see a victory than Schill.

Chan Ho Park is starting for Texas, and he's having a pretty good year, IIRC. Should be a good pitching matchup. But more of that on the game thread two days from now.

Well it aint over till its over but we're running a little dry in the pitching department I do not want to see Halama starting..... ever.

Are we gonna use a 4-man rotation? We could bring up somebody or something... Blaine Neal? Jeremi Gonzalez was a starter on the DBacks last year and he's on the pawsox now. Should we bring up a minor leaguer? Abe Alvarez...

I heard someone talking about Alvarez earlier today, but I think we could get away without using him. Maybe Miller's return could be sped up? Desperate times call for desperate measures...

Well I am kind of pissed off now with the latest on Schilling. But I'm not going to play the blame game. Injuries are just bad luck. We were very fortunate to not have a single starter go on the DL this year, and that was a main reason we won the whole thing. But right now I am concerned how we are going to deal with only 3 SP's on our roster and Clement has been inconsistent. The thing is though, you see scrub pitchers win all the time ex. Bruce Chen. I'd be pleased if Halama/Dinardo/Neal/Gonzalez/Other Possibilites give us 5-6 innings and keep it close. If they give up 9 runs but we score 10 I will be pleased, but they need to eat innings when they start.

Our offense needs to be on its A game in this tough 2-3 week stretch, we will need as many runs as possible during this stretch, and we will also need good work from the bullpen. Now these are very big ifs, but my point is things aren't completely bleak for the Sox and I think we will be able to survive until Miller comes back.

With Chan Ho Park pitching Friday in Texas (unfortunately, I'll be on a cruise to Cozumel, Mexico...so I'll miss a shot at going to the games), we have a good shot at winning. Chan Ho isn't very reliable.

Dont worry about the pitching..its good to get this injury B.S. out of the way early...plus look at the Orioles rotation and look at how they are doing..our offense will step it up...
