I'm not worried personally, but I think that he needs to start to get into his groove. I mean last year he was off to a slow start but I don't remember a 1-2 record.

Anyone else notice his fastball at most hits like ~87mph?

Oh well, the man is Keith Foulke...he'll be money like he was last year soon enough.

foulke's fastball is not super impressive, it's not his numero uno k pitch. he utilizes his awsome changeup to k players out, therefore does not need an overpowering fastball. 87 is definately a bit slower than he normally throws though.. i wouldn't be worried about foulke though, he's probably the last player i'de be worry about on the sox.

I didn't get to see the end of today's game, but I was watching where he nearly blew it in Toronto...I'm not sure what he's doing wrong. The only game I missed so far this year was when he gave up that walkoff HR to Jeter...he's not Mariano Rivera though, he'll get back on track.

Foulke is one of the top closers in the game. We have nothing to be worried about. The yankees have far greater cause for concern with Mo than we do with Keith. He's a fly ball pitcher who throws changeups, and sometimes that comes back to haunt him. Give him a game or two and all will be back to normal.

well we better not start booing him like those losers in the bronx do to their all star closer.

Don't worry...our team is nicknamed "idiots", but that's what everyone in the league thinks about yankees fans, also. Yankee fans will argue it, but we have more class and brains than they do....you don't boo Rivera, that's stupid.

Foulke needs to throw alot to be effective. As he gets his appearances in, he'll turn it around.

I agree with sarasoxfan, Embree is a concern.

I am a little worried...but I still think he'll be alright. The 21st was the last time he pitched before this game...he's been sitting on the bench a while, I'm sure was a little rusty while pitching last night.

How can any one say embre has been lights out. He sucks ...plain and simple.

I think he is the worst f***ing pitcher I have ever seen. Man, he sucks.

Unfortunately for the starters, when embree comes in he lets all the runners score and those runs get charged ot the starter. How amany times has that happened..Oh, last night for example, comiong off his one pitch wonder in Tampa, that ball is still flying.

I think you guys are un believably forgiving. Foulke looks like s***. He hasnt had an over powering outing since the season began.

When do you start to worry before- its too late.

i think embree has just been having a few bad breaks. his k/9 ratio is almost double what it was last year (granted smaller sample size, the rate is double which is a good sign). his era is 4.5 as of date. which is slightly above the low 4 we are used to.

i wouldn't expect too much of embree, 50-60 ip tops with a 4-4.3 era and about 6k/9. which doesn't "suck" but isn't the best. we can't have the best everything, we're not the yankees afterall :-D

embree cannot possibly be the worst pitcher you have ever seen, how about kim, ha! embree is the man, him and timlim were so awsome in the 03 playoffs it's not even funny, back when he threw 98 :-(.

hey you're right I forgot about kim...embree just sucks then, and timlin was and is the man..

maybe al has 4.45 ish era but if you count the runs that he is let in that get charged to others his ERA would be astronomical...

all I know is that I break out in a rash, when embree comes.

Hey, I went to the game in tampa against the devil rays on sunday. Wow, Ortiz's home run went off the catwalk out in right field, unf***ing believable.

I can't really tell if Embree is jsut off to a slow start or if he's really declining I still give him a few weeks to pull himself together.

another s***** outing...for foulke.

I am officially worried.

I second that notion..maybe we sould send him some where to work on his mechanics... or Korea for some good acupuncture.

Just got back in town (actually just got back into the U.S.) and have seen the boxscores....I'm officially worried about Foulke after what he did in Arlington. I don't know if he pitched in Detroit tonight, but wow...what is he doing wrong?

I take it back alan embree is worse than Kim..

I hate embree he just plain sucks I dont know why they bring him in.

f*** he has blown more games than anyone...

Posted

that's why i like college sports, when someone is sucking everyone roots for that player to get back to form. people wear his/her jerseys to the games, cheer them on. in pro sports if you suck for any stretch you're run out of town.. i think it would be great for us to show our players support until management decides to do something. they are part of the sox and i support all sox players.

I'm still drunk on the championship from last year. All the guys who were on that team I still root for - even if they are sucking or on another team. I don't even boo Bellhorn anymore, that bastard.

This whole season has less of a sense of urgency for me because of last year. But that doesn't mean you're not supposed to boo bellhorn. The guy strikes out EVERY time! Damn Bellhorn.

I dont boo bellhorn anymore, either, though I cant stand him. I am ready to boo millar, but am trying to be patient..

I have always hated embree and I think he is so f***ing bad, he is beyond even booing...he couldnt get anyone in little league...

Every time he comes in I break out in a rash...

f*** him....

I hate to see mccarty go, I like him, and i gather he's a real class act...

He's not done with the Red Sox the front office really likes him and they're going to give him a front office job.
