David McCarty Resigns

I love this guy. He inked a minor league deal with an invite to spring training, and will likely surprise everyone and make the roster again. Maybe this year as a pitcher.

give me a mCcARTY any day of the week. I'm glad he's back. He'll do anything you ask him to do, and he plays his heart out. He might not have the same skills as some other guys but he has more heart certain guys will ever have.

Anyone remember his walk-off homerun againsnt the mariners, i believe, earlier in the season? it was funny because McCarty has the worst swing ever, lol he golfed it outta there

McCarty resigning is a good move. The minor league deal means there's no risk involved, and I believe McCarty WILL make the team and do exactly what Mientkiewicz did at the end of last year:

 

late inning defensive replacement.

 

I think this clears the way for the Sox to move Doug.
