Boggs in the Hall

Boggs streamrolls the vote into the Hall of Fame. A great Red Sox but I can't help but think of him is on that stupid horse in pinstripes. And to top it off his 3,000 hit came as a Devil Ray.

Unlike Clemens, he hasn't thrown a hissyfit about the Hall having the final say in what hat he'll wear on his plaque. He's open to their choice, and it's obviously Boston, and he was on record saying he's glad it's out of his hands.

 

Congratulations, Wade. It would have been nice for you to finish your career in Boston, but superstar Scott Cooper was willing to work for peanuts. On a side note, what do you think it's like to be Cooper? He was the untouchable that led to Bagwell being traded, and he took Boggs' job. He was out of baseball long before either of them.

Boggs to the HOF is a no brainer. Anyone who wins that many batting titles and tops 3,000 hits deserves it.

I vaguely remember something about the D-Rays paying boggs to go in as a D-Ray, but now that the HOF chooses it's irrelevant. Or was I making this story up?

You're right. Boggs did take cash for a Drays hat in the hall, but the hall changed its rules and now he does go in with the B on his dome.
