Errors, and fielding percentage don't mean anything.

Neither does range-factor.

If your team is stacked with sinkerball pitchers, whose infield will have a better range factor?

If your team is stacked with flyball pitchers, whose outfield will have a better range factor?

OK, clearly you either don't know how to turn caps lock off, or you're very angry all the time. Assuming the former, here's a step-by-step lesson:

1) Unplug your computer.

2) Pick up computer.

3) Open window.

4) Throw computer out window.

Congratulations! You don't have to worry about caps lock any more!

You realize that you're making yourself sound like a whiny 12 year old by keeping the caps lock on, right? No one's going to listen to what you have to say. Why don't you stop and try and salvage any scrap of respect we might have had for you?

you missed yankeesin05 acting like an idiot. You missed his inability to figure out how to stop typing in all caps. You missed redsox fans pummeling him with interesting quips and stats and basically just another day where redsox fans proved again why they are superior.

Sounds like fun.

Wow.

Lots of fighting in this thread.

I LOVE how I was quoted on the Yankee board, and they argued with points I didn't even make.

I NEVER said RJ sucks.

I have NEVER said Javy Vazquez sucks

I didn't say Halsey was a good pitcher. I said he had a good year in AAA.

I also quoted some stats and asked users to give their analysis of the deal.

Wow. Yankee fans are stupid.

ppl are acting like this is the end of the world for the sox fans (not anyone on this board, but some friends of mine) ok lets see they have pavano (14-0 after 1???) and wright (not scary at all) i still like our pitching staff, in this article the sox react to the trade

remember of all the AL teams he gives up the most runs to who???......the RED SOX

Right.

You guys were "going to win 120 games" with Brown, Javy, Sheffield, and A-Rod..

We won 100 games with Brown and Javy. We can win mroe with Pavano and RJ :)

Nice. :)

I didn't know the 1997 Sox were the same team as the 2004 team or the projected 2005 team

You couldn't have been anymore off with those three comments.

First of all, your defense sucks, your middle infield has no range, and Matsui can't field. We've averaged 955 runs the last two years, you guys couldn't even get 900 last year.

Learn to spell, by the way. My guess is that your like 8 years old.

It's so hard to score those many runs in Fenway park, huh?

your comparing apples to oranges, they are different ERA's of teams.

2090 sure is a busy bee.

There's no sense griping about this, no more so than when a-rod went to them. The Unit whined for this and now he has it, along with all the pressure of having to perform. And like last year, no one is conceeding a thing. Play the games.

Yes. It's safe to say the projected 2005 Red Sox will be BETTER offensively than the 97 team:

C: Jason Varitek > Scott Hatteberg

1B: Kevin Millar

2B: Mark Bellhorn > Jeff Frye

3B: Bill Mueller = Tim Naehring

SS: Edgar Renteria

LF: Manny Ramirez > Troy O'Leary

CF: Johnny Damon > Darren Bragg

RF: David Ortiz > Reggie Jefferson

Better at 5 of 9 positions, equal at one. You could even make this comparison a little better saying Ortiz > Mo Vaughn, and Millar > Jefferson, but I didn't do that.

This team is easily superior to the 1997 squad offensively.

Dumbest post ever Errors dont mean anything so how about when a 2nd Basemen has a 30 errors and a .011 fielding percentage?

And Brown and Vazquez had combined for 441 2/3 innings at an ERA of 2.83 the season prior to coming to the Yankees. Randy and Pavano combined for 468 innings at an ERA of 2.79 last season. Talk about your all-time slam-dunk upgrades. What's that, a potential zero win upgrade over last year's prediction? What you're also failing to recognize is that Lieber to a Mazzone-less Wright has the potential of being an absolute disaster. At the very best, and I'm being generous, it's a wash.

it begins....

Wow. I expected there to be problems when Randy pitched badly... but he's already having problems with the media and he hasn't even put on a Yankee uniform yet?!?

That's pretty bad.

The guy got up in his face after he lost his all powerful mullet...how would you feel?

How did I know sox fans would make a deal about this. It's not like pedro has ever confronted the media right?

It's not exactly like Pedro had the best reputation for dealing with the media.

He better get used to it.
