How bout him? Lot of talk about him in the Beltran thread so here's a thread where you can discuss where he's going. I've only heard stuff about him going to the Mets with mah boy Pedro, have you guys heard anything else?

I believe the Mets will get Sammy Sosa, and here's why:

The Orioles have talked to all the free agents, but have yet to land a significant one. I believe they'll try hard enough to land Delgado and maybe even Ordonez.

This leaves the Mets with 2 options (they want another big bat):

Trade for Sosa

Trade for Ramirez

Ramirez is much better, but is also a lot more expensive. Much like Alex Rodriguez last year, it will be pretty hard for Sosa to return to the Cubs, so Chicago is a more motivated to move Sosa than the Red Sox are to move Ramirez.

Chicago wants to make a trade, the Mets do too. In the end, I think they'll work it out.

I'm betting sosa's going to end up in baltimore and delgado will end up in a met uniform. Last year they said vlad was going to the o's and Palmeiro was going too go to the angels, but that turned around eh?

There's always surprises. Vlad was one of them.

I say two players who could drastically alter the Sosa/Ramirez/Delgado saga are Magglio Ordonez and JD Drew. Both have injury history, but are great players when healthy.

The Mets and O's COULD opt to sign one of those 2 guys instead of trading for Sosa or Ramirez. They'd cost a fraction of the $$, and not cost them players.

Sosa to the O's would be pretty a good move. With his injury history, he could spend some time as DH and possibly lengthen his career.

True, but both the Mets and the O's are looking for marquee players - big name players to help market the team. The Mets we know about, but the O's will likely do the same now with the Nationals moving into the backyard.

I would be really surprised if the O's also don't go after Lowe. I think they'd outbid Detroit and maybe even LA.

Our division is starting to get stacked.

In another thread, I heard Beltran was going to be a D-RAY.

In this I heard Sosa was gonna be an O/Met.

Oh boy, the Yanks are a freakin overpaid allstar team as usual.

But, we'll still beat em all out because we're the Red Sox.

ok the D-RAY part was made as a sarcastic remark by that dumbf*** oriolesrule5 or somethin like that.

but yes, the al east is the best division in baseball! hopefully the orioles can go for a run for the playoffs so its more interesting than just the yanks/redsox.

the yanks are a bunch of overpaid players, and most are out of their prime (not saying all of them, but a lot are).

there pitching is just old.

ill give you the offense.

with exception of left infield, defense is shaky.

i would't quite call them an "all star team" just yet.they'll be pretty good, but thell be kicked out of the playoffs bc we'll win the division and they lose the wildcard to a team from the west of the central.
