anh its just lookin back at the off season and funny to look at posts made what will be the outcome for the sox and its players for 2005, case in point:

again, ahhchon: tek can't have great rbi or HR numbers. he doesn't have the power, nor does he have the ability to.

he's also insanely terrible on the road, compared to at home:

Home 420 1322 193 395 105 5 44 212 151 273 8 6 .299 .376 .486 .861

Away 412 1386 170 338 77 2 53 206 147 303 13 7 .244 .320 .417 .737

i don't want to cluster this thread with numbers that don't fit across the screen:

http://sports.yahoo.com/mlbpa/players/5921...er&type=Batting

look at his numbers against teams with good pitching. disregard a few of the teams after atlanta. it is pretty clear that tek his for better average against teams with poorer pitching (DUHH). yeah that's obvious, but his dropoff is much greater than most guys that bat .300. he'll bat .350 against teams like KC who have no pitching and bat .228 and .194 against teams that have good pitching such as NYY and ATL.

i don't really know how you guys can say tek is not on his decline, do you think he can/will have a better year than the one he has had this past year?

john

john john john, I believe you are wrong on that one. In 2004 Tek connected for 18 homeruns, Now amidst before the july trade deadline he has already belted 15, which he should finish off with 2005 at about 23 - 28 Homeruns by season's ends. 73 RBIs in 2004, and 42 RBIS this season thus far, on track 75 to 95 range. The only thing he hasnt been able to do compared to 2004 was stolen bases havings stole 10 in 13 attempts, while in '05 he hasnt attempted yet. Why do you think they gave him role of captain?

if the marlins want to trade him, it would have to be to the redsox, since the white sox are close to a deal with tampa bay which they send marte to TB.

Burnett is going to be hard to get since the marlins are only 4 1/2 games out of the wild card and the division. They will most likely hang on to Burnett. Which puts us in a tough situation because who else is out there?

ya i have no problem giving up shoppach, they want a lefthanded setup guy, embree can probaly have sucess in the NL in that park and im fine giving up two prospects as long as both are not our top 6 prospects

OK, so its official- AJ Is staying with the marlins.....only for this season

now who will get him in the offseason?

surely the yankees, orioles, and red sox will all be in the mix.

Depending on how far the Marlins go in the playoffs I think theres somewhat of a chance that they will resign him. I know they have Beckett and Willis but I think keeping all 3 through their prime (much like the Braves did with Maddux, Glavin, Smoltz) should allow them to go to the playoffs every year. I really couldn't imagine letting a pitcher like AJ walk away for nothing. I'm sure the marlins will atleast offer him and deal.
