Who are you? Zenny? What?

Please get rid of this guy. I don't want Beltre and another big contract at a surplus position.

If you seriously think Shoppach is ready for the big leagues, or if you even think we aren't going to resign Tek, you need to have your head examined..and why wouldnt we keep meintkevich at 1st? Your also forgetting Mueller isnt a second basement, and doesnt have the range required to be an effective everyday 2nd basemen.

PLEASE TELL ME YOU WERE JOKING

Dude, honestly, wicked annoying with the whole screenname and picture thing.

As far as next year goes, Trot should be the #5 hitter. I'd do this:

CF- Damon

2B- Bellhorn

DH- Ortiz

LF- Ramirez

RF- Nixon

SS- Renteria

1B- Mientkiewicz

3B- Youkilis

C- Mirabelli (Shoppach after a necessary 1/2 season in Pawtucket)

I have a question....are the sox going to resign pedro? Because a year ago he said he wanted out, is that still true?

He doesn't want out, but he's not a guarantee to be brought back.

only problem I have with this is renteria. hes an excellent hitter, and i think much improved over nomar in hitting for average, defense, and has a good arm. but id like to see him bat second instead of bellhorn in the event that we actally get him.

Bellhorn is on base more than Renteria and I'd rather have Renteria driving runs in instead of setting them up. There's a reason why he's batting 6th in STL with Walker in the 2 hole.

I love Youk, I think he's ready NOW. No reason to sign Beltre (for big $$) when you already have a cheap platoon of Mueller/Youk for 05. Then in 06 it's Youk's full-time job.

Keep in mind that Youk will get worse before he gets better, once teams have seen him a second time around. That being said, I think he will adjust, and be a successful MLB regular for the Sox.

MKZ is an awesome player to have around. Keep him please.

Millar's got a decent bat, but he's too one-dimensional. He can't play defense, can't run, bunt, work counts.....

I like having Pokey around. He's got a GREAT glove, and is a VERY valuable player off the bench. He's fast as hell, I wish the Red Sox would run him more. Keep him.

Pedro's a keeper.

I like Nomah555's idea of possibly moving Cabrera to second and resigning him. He's got a great glove, and a good attitude (seems like so far at least). This, of course, ONLY if the Red Sox can sign a guy like Renteria. Otherwise, I say resign Cabrera and keep him at short. Either way, keep Orlando.

Tek: Hardest decision on this list. Shopp doesn't quite seem ready, and Mirabelli every day is a bit of a scary thought. If Tek demands a lot of money, he's got to GO. If he comes back for a reasonable price...sign him to a 1 or 2 year deal (no more than 2).

Williamson might not pitch in 05...So the Sox have no choice but to let him go.

D-Lowe goes unless he comes back for CHEAP.

I think that covers all CURRENT Sox players. What the Sox will need:

Another starting pitcher. With D-Lowe gone, the Sox will need a #3 starter. Wake/Arroyo are solid 4 and 5 guys, but the Sox one more starter to slot into #3 (2 top flight starters if Pedro leaves)

Setup men. Timlin/Embree are struggling, and Williamson's most likely gone. Foulke's done a decent job closing games, but we need people to bridge the gap from starters to Keith.

Shortstop. I like Cabby, but if a deal can be worked for Renteria....I say grab him.

I think we are re signing Tek and it would be a mistake not to he's a club house leader and we resign Pedro because Ortiz said one of the big reasons he resigned is Pedro saying how great BOston is and how good management is to players and how it's truely has no other fan base like it so I see Pedro and Tek staying.

Dude??, How dod you know that I am not a dudette? Plus, I would hate to be refered to that. Why is it annoying? It's not to me.

PS.... Nixon is not a number 5 hitter when he can't hit left handed pitchers.

I'm having trouble believing you re going to be able to resign all those players and still actually bring in players. Players you'll be able to resign will doug M nad carbrera. Everybody else is not clear whether you 're going to resign them. I have doubts about pedro and varitek staying.

I think if the pitchers adjusted to Youkillis they'd done it already. Youkillis is showing a lot of power at the plate, just can't get them fair. Enough with negativity already, you predict doom way too much. Arroyo can pitch fine as a 3 starter, because he is getting real good. Wake can be 4, and Abe Alvarez? Maybe if he has a good spring training. Too early for next season though

as much as i hate to say it, the yanks arent the only one with a high payroll. a lot of teams would like to have bostons payroll. dont we spend like the 2nd most in the MLB, of course, under the yanks?

also, anyone know where i can find a list of FAs for next year?

Posted

also, here is my lineup i would LIKE to see next year:

CF- Damon

2B- Cabrera

DH- Ortiz

LF- Ramirez

1B- Mientkiewicz/Millar (I would like to see more MKZ)

SS- Renteria

RF- Nixon/Millar (Millar when lefties pitch)

C- Varitek

3B- Mueller/Youk (After next year, the job is Youk's only)

keep reese on the side...

of course the lienup would shift depending on whos playing, but its too early, but this is what i would LIKE to see.

also for pitchers...

i dont want lowe around...period.
