Boy, isnt life wonderful when we beat the MF-Yankmees!!!!

Let's kill baltimore, pedro pitching, yeehaaa.

No need to be critical today. Since the brawl, some spark, some spirit, some unity, some fire....

I still shudder at the site of anyone from our bullpen....even timlin who gave up that bomb seems to be struggling. But if we get our s*** together..out of the pen we should be able to make a run at this thing.

I have spent a lot of time criticizing Francona, and I still think he is a dope, and I am turning on theo for not making any moves...and I have also criticized fatso, bellhorn and embree a lot. But man, Millar is on friggin fire, and bells got a nice and key homer, and while I am feeling genrous, no on e has real;ly mentioned that embree and even Mendoza were kick ass saturdya. Mendoze 6 wonderful outs against his old team, it was spectacular.

I dont know much about adams but I think its a band aid. Leskanic I noticed has come up with a strange "I suck get me out of here" injury...

Gabe in for Trot I dont think we suffer with that.

All I can say is that these two games were f***ing inspiring...

What's with the bonehead defense....

Kill the O's ...lets go petey!!!!!!!!! How about some wins, a winning streak--even???

Man, it feels good to beat those homo's.

Yes, it's sweet.

But we got lucky. Millar's getting hot, and the Yankees are a shell of the team that we'll be contending with down the stretch:

Mike Mussina is out.

Kevin Brown is out.

Jason Giambi is out.

Millar isn't as bad as he's been since the beginning of the year, but he isn't as good as he was in the Yankee series (nobody is).

This series shows (to me) that both of these clubs are severely flawed. The difference down the stretch is going to be getting players back (Yankees, the 3 abovementioned) or getting players from outside of the organization (Randy Johnson or others).

These teams are very close in talent, not-so-close in the standings.

Keep an eye on the evil empire....

Mussina and Giambi are completly ineffective. Giambi will never be the same, since he's off the roids. Brown looks awful in rehab assignments right now.

Crespo,

If Mussina/Brown don't come back soon, expect Georgie to replace them with someone good, and the same for Giambi. I don't expect the Yankees to have a rotation of Vazquez,Contreras,Sturtze,Leiter,(insert random rookie here) come September....

The Yankees are a very good team, a team to be feared. That being said, they are beatable right now....

Plus, if the Yankees get Johnson (which, according to some reports I read, seems more possible than it did a week ago), he instantly becomes the ace of this staff...

Either way, the Yankees will be a better club than the one we just beat 2/3 down the stretch run...

Hope it is that way in the playoffs.

With what? The Diamonbacks were offered 6 yankee prospects, all together, including Navarro, and the Diamonbacks said no. George Steinbrenner would have to buy Jerry Colango a private island to get Randy Johnson. Benson? The pirates won't settle for Navarro, they got the Twins out there to give them a much better prospect in Jason Kubel. No way in hell are the yankees going to add anyone who will make in impact.

The NY Post, and the NY Daily news are the two most biased newspapers in the world. I believe a sports writer was fired for making up lies, who worked for the post. Non biased sources such as Peter Gammons last night, says that the D-backs don't believe the players that the Yankees have to offer will play next year, and that's what their looking for. MLB ready talent. Posada would be the way the Yankees could acquire Johnson.

RJ is not going to the Yankees. RJ does have a lot of control over where he goes but not 100% Arizona refuses to trade for the prospects that the Yankees have. Unless $tienbriener pulls off a three way. 2 scenarios I dream of...

1. Georgie pulls off a trade sending RJ to NY sending the old ass Cuban to Arizona (eeating most of his contract) Jose (who also has a no trade why the reason escapes me) vetoes it :D !

2. We all know Collangalo (sp?) hates the Yankees so he pulls RJ into his office and says we can't pull anything off its either the Red Sox or you're stuck here!

I know neither or likely but hey I can dream can't I?

Like I said, I am going to BELIEVE nothing I read until it actually happens. I just thought I'd pass the articles along.

I still think you guys are underestimating the Yankees.

I agree and I encourage everyone to listen to els......dont set yourselves up for any unneccessary pain.....you can list all the injuries you want and before the ink is dry, georgie will have replaced them with someone better. I take a lot of heat for comments I make about our GM, but puh-lease who the hell are these stiffs, they keep finding for middle relief..terry adams..sucks....leskanic sucks, anderson sucks.......remeber that pig todd jones, suerbeck....

the yankees will replace those guys with someone as good or better. we need to be more like that...

BUT, I love trhe hitting lately..I am even snuggling up to fatso and bells....even francona is looking good.

Beat them O's.

You overestimate to power of money in the major leagues. A couple years ago, the Yankees could boast proably one of the best farm systems in all of baseball. But after some ill advised trades for veterans in the win now mode, the Yankees are left with nothing. I really don't care what the scout has to say about their prospects its all up to Jerry Colango (who absoulty despises Steinbrenner) and the GM (I don't know his name, but he doesn't like the prospects) Randy Johnson can't force his way out tommorow he can't trade himself. I'd rather believe it's not going to happen, then live it in fear believing it will.

crespo. you know thats a good point, and I hope it remains true, ie...the fact that those scumbags didnt win last year.

I just hate getting my hopes up that they are tanking and then see them end up with new studs who kick our ass.

I hate them....so friggin much.........too bad, no body shanked a -rod...lol..okay I a,m getting carried away but the point is your right!

I read a rumor today (from Boston.com) that the Yankees would take on Matt Mantei and Robby Alomar in a deal with Randy to help Arizona clear up their payroll, then release those players.

Name one team OTHER than the Yankees who can take on a useless player who makes $7 mil just so they can make a deal?

Money IS power.

I'm not saying Randy brings the World Series guarantee with him to the Bronx, but I AM saying don't count the Yankees out of a potential deal just yet.

The Yankees could pay Jose Contreras to play in Arizona in order to get Johnson. Jose then becomes basically a no-risk player.

Consider the possibilities....

The D-Backs have no problems financially, Colanglo is the owner of the Suns as well. Any trade like that would definatly be thrown out be the commisonier's office. The D-Backs would have to pay Contrereas a salary, plus it would be diffcult to get Contrereas to waive his no trade clause. The D-Backs need players not finacial relief.

Crespo,

We're just going to have to agree to disagree on this one. I hope I'm wrong, and the unit stays in Arizona...... It just seems to me Arizona would jump at the opportunity to unload Mantei and Alomar (even if it came at the expense of Johnson) for prospects....Since they're not going to win this year.

Again, I respect your opinion...but I don't agree with it.

I'm holding out the slight belief, that A the Yankees don't have the prospects, and for the love of the game Selig says no. I just found an article that scared the living s*** out of me, take a deep breath before you read this one. For of the love of god D-Backs get some value and trade him somewhere else.

The Yankees don't have prospects, so I still don't know how or why the D-backs would trade Randy Johnson.

Crespo...........why...why....did you lead us to that artricle. That is frightening...I am hoping its the agent planting a story for some god forsaken reason...

selig is as lame as FDR...he wont help, plus I think he's stienbrenner's bitch...

Crespo, woiuld you agree that randy johnson is kinda of thin skinned about the press and such, you know he has played in some s***** little towns I truly dont think he would work out in New york.....and well, boston for that matter.......

New York can have him, (see me trying to prepare myself)....

isnt anyone in the friggin national league interested in the ugly bum (this is me trying to pretend he wouldnt be a wonderful additoin to the sox).....

that aricle was scary

I'm going to respond to the article you posted a link for now:

1. agents are bitches. Why do you think Randy's agent wants him in pinstripes? $$$. He knows the Yankees will give him an extension at whatever he wants.

2. Randy seems like he's got an atitude. Getting into fights and whatnot with his players. What did Gonzo do to deserve such treatment?

Maybe Randy gets traded to the bronx and tears that clubhouse apart....

I don't know about thin skinned, he did pitch in the World Series and do well. I hope your right that he faints under pressure. If I were Jerry Colango I would tell the Yankees to go kiss my ass and give a better players. They should demand Posada he's worth more to the Yankees than Johnson would be. I am starting to worry a little bit.

The problem is that the Yankee clubhouse already has a lot of bad blood:

Gary Sheffield

Kevin Brown

Kenny Lofton

Guys that are just not team players...yet Joe Torre turns them around. George is irrational MOST of the time, but he's smart enough not to turn on Torre. Just about any other manager and that clubhouse really would fall apart.

Can we truly believe that Randy would somehow disrupt that mix? Probably not...we can hope though.

i still think that he is thin skinned, not on the mound, but when reporters press him on stuff. Grouchy at best...Plus, the new york press will have a field day when he strats griping about pressure, and expectations. They did it too A-Dick in the beginning of the season and he is just now recovering, They can have him, believe me, he'll pitch a great game or two and the press will ask him why he didnt pitch a perfect game and he'll get snappy, and then they will tear him to shreds. Better men than him have been eaten alive in that town. Greed and agents paint a pretty picture, but he's getting prickily about trade ruimors, just wait until they ask him who he is banging or if he's getting old, etc...he'll leave screaming. Plus, the pock marked dickhead doesnt like schilling and schilling is a redsox, and if he doesnt like one of our own screw him

That's a good point, I would love to see RJ shove Matsui, after he lets a fly ball drop in for a basehit.
