weakest AL ive seen in my lifetime, but I dont mean to negatively contextualize the accomplishment. Im happy
NOw had they missed, I would have screamed about losing playoff spots to deadline sellers 2 straight years , so glad that didnt happen but still.....
Few years in a row now where at least 50% of the AL teams made the playoffs simply cuz somebodys gotta. A lot of that was the evaporating TV deals (limiting Texas ability to get back for example). But when you are losing out to teams like KC, Det last year (seller), Cle this year (seller), Rangers (no tv money, limiting them), losing out to teasm like this for yet another year in a row woulda been bad
The bar was low but they cleared it and im happy. Now lets come back stronger with new players and not just "the team is mostly set". Mayer has to earn his way on to this team.
