  1. Is he no longer chris freakin' sale?
  2. What is your definition of "fine"?
  3. I'm just being realistic.
  4. It has it's place, but it definitely hurts DH's. Again, what other player had the most impact over the first half than devers? This team would have struggled to average 3 runs a game or so without him.
  5. You mean like how they did when they refused to sign their best player (mookie)?
  6. How any player does in the 2nd half does not change who the MVP of the 1st half is.
  7. Most consistent bat after his tough start, rbi's, only real threat in the line-up. Could you imagine what their record would have been without him after bregman went down? A starter only impacts the game every 5 days and chapman has appeared in less than half of the sox games.
  8. So you're basically saying that they only need half a team and hope that the young guys improve! 🤣
  9. All the other answers are cut but they are wrong. You guys can hate on devers forevers all you like now that he's gone, but he was clearly the team MVP of the 1st half.
  10. I play the lottery but I don't count on it as a retirement plan. The defense, like the sox', is weak.
  11. That would require them hitting on all 5 acquisitions while also seeing improvements across the board with their current roster. I think it will take a couple of years.
  12. Again, barring a huge spending spree or some incredible trades I just don't really see this team being competitive next year either. There's many holes to fill for just one off-season.
  13. Lol, swing and a miss. I have no such fear as I believe the orioles will eventually pass the sox and the sox will end up in last place in the division again. My fear would be that they actually do what would be best for the franchise and trade the pieces I mentioned and bring back a nice haul. I hope they try to improve at the deadline and fail to make the playoffs once again,
  14. You're entitled to your opinion. The bottom line is that they have struggled with .500 all season, traded away one of their top 2 bats while the other is on the IL, they are a terrible fielding team and they have the 22nd ranked starters' ERA. Not exactly the recipe for success. And while bregman is a quality player, he doesn't solve all of those issues.
  15. Hence the reason I specifically stated "Barring a big spending spree or some miraculous trades in the off-season". Please try to keep up.
  16. I think there's enough signs to make that evidently clear already. The Yanks and the tigers both desperately could use a 3B. It only takes 2 teams to start a bidding war, not that the sox would trade him to the Yanks. But they could use that to drive the price up.
  17. He'll be 32 at the start of next season. Barring a big spending spree or some miraculous trades in the off-season, the sox as presently constituted are at least a few seasons away from being true contenders and bregman would bring a nice return.
  18. Makes it look like he's just trying to keep fannies in the seats for as long as possible.
