  1. My top picks: 1) butch hobson - certainly the guy to help with their fielding woes 2) bill buckner - do I really need to explain? 3) mike torrez - well, because, you know 4) bobby valentine - just because I have always hated him
  2. He's shown very little evidence of that since April......
  3. And hamilton hit a HR last night! Again, your man crush campbell has had way more at bats than hamilton, even over the last 7 games, so your premise is BS.
  4. I graduated in 1987. Do you know the Irish Haven on 58th & 4th? How about the Wicked Monk?
  5. Given his .319 OBP, the surest way to see him on first is with a first baseman's glove in his hand.
  6. If you didn't notice that campbell has had over twice as many AB's as hamilton and has a lower BA/OPS over the last 30 games while having twice as many AB's that's ok. It happened and that left you continuing to make excuses. The fact is that campbell has had far more AB's over the last 7, 15 and 30 games sample sizes.
  7. Never said that, but he certainly doesn't have the final say.
  8. I was born in Red Hook, grew up in Sunset Park. I went to Xaverian. Do you remember a place called The Snook Inn on 86th St? How about Chadwick's?
  9. Again, the manager doesn't decide who gets sent down to the minors. And cora has played campbell plenty, hence the reason he has 230 AB's. Smh.....
  10. What part of Brooklyn are you from?
  11. Another absolutely silly post. First off, last I checked, managers don't decide who gets sent down. Not to mention that cora has sat anthony often and also made him do outfield drills in front of reporters after misplaying a ball. Hardly signs of favoritism. Secondly, campbell has had 229 AB's, while mayer just 59 and anthony just 27. If they are in the same sad state as campbell at 230 AB's, then they should be sent back down as well.
  12. Well, my point is that most of you took way too long to realize the obvious.
  13. Well, they put up 7 runs in a win this afternoon.......
  14. Ranking the next 4 MLB managers who could be fired out of desperation 1. Boston Red Sox manager Alex Cora The Boston Red Sox need to rip the band-aid off that is manager Alex Cora. I understand that he won a World Series here in 2018, but that was seven years ago. In the years since, he has been tied to the Houston Astros' sign-stealing scandal and been ousted for a year, only to come back in 2021. Yes, the 2021 team did make it to the ALCS, but the last four seasons have been varying shades of rubbish. He seems like a manager who stumbles into luck every so often. From afar, I do not think he does a great job of managing a clubhouse, nor do I think he does a great job of empowering his younger players to make a difference. There may not be a manager in baseball who has less of a finger on the pulse of the team he is managing than Cora. I would be utterly stunned if he got to manage Boston next season.
  15. Well, when I mentioned devers being traded a few months back, I was bombarded with "devers forevers, he's never getting traded". Then he got traded. A couple of weeks ago I said that campbell needed to be sent down. I was bombarded with "it will kill his confidence" and "he has nothing left to prove at AAA". Now he's getting sent down. I don't want to say I'm Nostradamus or anything, but...... Well, maybe closer to Carnac the Magnificent.......
  16. Yankees: Elmer Rodriguez-Cruz, RHP (No. 6) Carlos Narvaez has been a revelation for the Red Sox since they acquired him from the Yankees at the Winter Meetings, but the pitching prospect New York received in return also has looked good. A fourth-rounder from a Puerto Rico high school in 2021, Rodriguez-Cruz ranks no worse than fourth in the High-A South Atlantic League in ERA (2.70), strikeouts (74 in 60 innings), opponent average (.172) and WHIP (1.03). His fastball parks at 93-96 mph and peaks at 98, while both his mid-80s slider and upper-70s curveball are effective.
  17. And if you take out all the at-bats where the Yankees didn't hit a home run then they would have all the top spots..........
  18. Again, none of that has anything to do with your silly statement regarding "regression to the mean" Smh.......
  19. Amongst all qualified batters, Goldschmidt, Grisham, Rice, Bellinger, Wells and Volpe all have a higher OPS than anyone on the sox.
