  1. since when has BLOOM taken the best player available with his 1st rd pick other than Mayer?
  2. sure because we need more SS's.
  3. nonetheless watch Bloom take another SS with our 1st rd pick next week
  4. ok so I will answer directly. first off I never said we should have signed either of those guys but I was 100 % against the signing of Kluber from day 1 and given hindsight I would have resigned either of those 2 over Kluber. it is obvious you are a Bloom fan but I ask you how many more last place AL East finishes do we need to endure before the Bloom PLAN actually comes to fruition? How many more 1-2 year contracts does he need to bring in before this team can TRULY contend for a WS--NOT JUST A PLAYOFF SPOT??
  5. WHEN has Pivetta EVER had a 15-20 game hot stretch??
  6. you better do more research if you think this were the only 2 injury risk players that Bloom has signed. still waiting to see the shortstop who was to fill the gap till Story returned even make it to rehab. And please tell me which of Eovaldi and Wacha that Kluber replaced in the rotation ?
  7. EXACTLY but one can never convince the Bloom fan club
  8. . This will give Bloom an excuse to hang on to all our starters at the deadline. better to just let them walk for nothing just like 2023 CY Young candidate Nate Eovaldi and Michael Wacha did.
  9. In fairness to Bloom the Sox have been hit by significant injuries in the rotation. Not really all that surprising though given the rotation Bloom constructed.
  10. I thought in 4 years Bloom could have brought us in another Bello type SP
  11. Which will mean that Bloom will not be trading any of our guys on 1 year expiring deals. He will just let them walk for more draft picks like he did last deadline
  12. And what were the Sox after 70 games last year? I don't want to bring it up but who is the GM of the Phillies?? And they also have an owner who is not worried about trimming the payroll.
  13. yet somehow people are still believing in Bloom but the number gets smaller by the day
  14. Being a LEGITAMATE WS contender--NOT a team struggling to play .500 ball and stay OUT of the cellar in the AL East 3 of his 4 years in Boston. Is this clear enough ?
  15. I am not advocating big spending I am simply saying that we do not spend like we did. Whether that is good or bad is simply a matter of opinion. However if Bloom told John Henry 4 years ago when he was hired it would take 5 years { a minimum at this point} to turn around what was already a good team do you think he would have hired him? The facts are in my opinion that Bloom has done a poor to terrible job so far. Yes he may have bolstered the farm system somewhat but none has been done to add top pitching prospects which Tampa is well known for. Red Sox have not developed top SP other than possibly Bello who is not a Bloom guy.
  16. my point is that our payroll has gone from around #3 in MLB to now #11. Spending 10 million on a player nowadays is not really that much. Most of the players we let walk { JD, Eovaldi, Wacha} are doing better elsewhere than the guys Bloom brought in as replacements.
  17. we haven't spent a lot the past few winters
  18. Nice read -thanks for posting it. I wonder how he would answer MY question--"Chaim how do you feel your PLAN is progressing and when do you think the Red Sox will have a TRULY COMPETITIVE team again-not this .500 stuff??
  19. were you thinking that pitchers would simply keep pumping only fastballs at him?
  20. at least one more than a 38 year old guy with limited 1B experience
  21. i think you pretty much nailed it with this post. So long as Bloom can put a .500 team on the field AND keep the payroll down he is set for life.
  22. If anyone thinks that a rotation of Bello, Whitlock, Crawford, Houck, and Winkowski is NEAR good enough to compete I have some property to sell you. Of course couple that with the addition of Jordan . Mayer, and Yorke and Henry will be skipping cartwheels at the payroll $$ saved. Sad but that has been the plan all along..
  23. Well the Sox just lost their 2nd straight to the mighty Colorado Rockies. Just PATHETIC.
  24. How many times has John Henry said the goal " was to compete for the WS EVERY year" yet how many last place AL East finishes have we had since he stated this?
