  1. We have a hole at 1B vs RHPs, SPer and maybe Closer if Chapman can’t come back. 2B if Mayer can’t come back, too, but Raphael’s is an option, too. i think the criteria is different for the Rangers for some reason
  2. I’m not sure how 6 guys under .680 are not holes, based on a what if, but no what ifs apply to Mayer at 2B, Yoshida or Anthony at DH, Fitts or others as a back end starter and Chapman not being hurt badly as the closer. chapman is a hole but de Grom is not?
  3. I’m not big on getting a backup catcher either. Wong does well with Bello. i only mentioned back up catcher because where else should we make a serious effort to upgrade the O, beyond 1B?
  4. For Duran, Campbell and more prospects we should get Ryan and their Duran. I’d add to the offer Early, Sandlin & Mullins for the duo.
  5. I think getting a cheap LHB 1Bman to platoon with Romy is all we need on O. A back up catcher might be okay on a rental basis. I doubt this will cost us much. Im always for adding a SPer, but I’m not for overpaying for a rental. The Chapman injury worries me. It will very hard winning without him and Slaten.
  6. If they get hot? that’s a big if, and why not the same type what if for the Sox. the Rangers need a major improvement with hitting. They have 6 batters under .680 and 8 under .730. they have way more holes than we have, and that’s assuming de Grom stays healthy, and Nate & Mahle keep this up.
  7. Agreed. Others given starts did not have great AAA numbers either.
  8. Well said, cp.
  9. We all have agreed on just how s***** our rosters have been since the Betts trade. .500 is not bad in that context. Now, he has a good team, and we are doing pretty well, despite losing a big chunk of our rotation in Houck &, Crawford, plus Devers. ,
  10. Possibly being slight underdogs vs 2-4 AL teams is not insurmountable or long odds. the Jays will hit a wall at some point. i do not think the Rangers are this good. Detroit and the Yanks are bearable. the Astros have some flaws and injuries
  11. Why has Criswell hardly gotten long looks?
  12. It would not be pick 1-5 vs 150: it would likely be 5-10 vs 20-25. At most maybe #3 vs #27.
  13. I like the concept. It’s a way of quantifying how good. Like grades A, B, C ….
  14. Saying we need a #1 or 2 means we need a solid, proven pitcher. when you reach the playoffs, you need 3 solid SPer. One could argue we have that now, but I’d prefer adding another Ace or near ace guy.
  15. To me, selling would be about improving the 2026 and beyond roster. Better draft picks is minor.
  16. I do everyday. We have the same win total as the preseason AL favorite- the Yanks.
  17. I agree, but Duran brings other things to the table than Abreu, including being better vs LHPs. its a tough choice to make. Trading Rafaela or Anthony is nevertheless suggested but both would bring back more.
  18. We need a #2 to be our #3 or 4 starter.
  19. I feel like we have to do something significant, perhaps two deals. I’d hate to trade top prospects, so that leaves Duran or Abreu
  20. I’ve suggested several Duran and Abreu trades for controlled pitchers, but I really hate the idea. It’s out of a greater need.
  21. I’d like to see us get a nice bat for 1B, but not overpay for one. Platoon Romy with Yoshida and Ref with Abreu and trade Duran plus for Ryan- Maybe Keller
