  1. Martin and Bernardino have been money and great signings. but for every Martin or Bernardino, it seems like he signs a dozen Jake Farias and Taylor Scotts.
  2. to me, it gives the appearance that JH, billionaire, thinks saving $10 million is more important than winning. it's not a good look. signed, Crybaby fan
  3. unless someone on here knows DD, we'll never know. but yeah, you're right, as a greedy multi-billionaire, JH, has to cut costs.
  4. he had a bad year. third place after three straight AL East titles. i get it. i would have given him more time. maybe he had a plan. we'll never know.
  5. You nailed it. My opinion of JH was low after he fired DD and then went to nothing after trading Mookie.
  6. it's going to be in '24 or '25. or '29 or '30. sometime. maybe. in the next twenty years, for sure. i'm sure that Bloom's apologists will enlighten us.
  7. Luis Urias. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHA
  8. no doubt, scouring the waiver wire for the cream of the crap.
  9. I’ll just say it. I can’t wait til the day that Bloom is no longer employed by the Red Sox.
  10. agree with you 100% here, Max.
  11. no wonder the Pirates dumped this loser.
  12. what a shitshow this clown is.
  13. good gawd. hit the first f***ing batter.
  14. that wouldn't surprise me even a little.
  15. i get that (i played SS & P myself ), but i thought the the point of drafting so many was to trade surplus for pitching. and we most definitely need pitching.
  16. Bernardino has been good acquisition and a real surprise to me. i'd be shocked if we pick up a decent quality pitcher and is a LHH MI that crucial? why not a RHH MI that could hit because Chang sure as hell can't.
  17. that's what i'm wondering. the whole point (so i've been told) of drafting three dozen shortstops each year is so we can trade them for pitching. it appears that the Rangers are trying to win. Bloom....not so much. unless you count Mauricio Llovera as his big acquisition.
  18. Works for me. Yankees could use his money to go after Ohtani. And you know they want him no matter what the cost.
  19. i never said all catchers are basically equal, you did. re-read post 6563 in my reply to Bell. to reiterate, catchers can and do make a difference, i just think CERA is the wrong way to quantify that. i would hope that Sox pitchers prefer Wong, as he is, IMHO, the best catcher on the team. and it's not even close.
  20. because i think you're right. no, i just don't see how it's the catcher's fault you've got a s***** pitcher on the mound. they can call a game but have no control over a pitcher's control, or lack thereof.
  21. i agree with all of that. my point was that i believe CERA is just total BS.
  22. absolutely. but using CERA is not the right way to quantify that difference.
  23. i agree. how the f*** is it the catcher's fault that the pitcher sucks?
  24. Yoshida is legit. Great pick up by BLoom.
