  1. The Red Sox have more blow saves 12 in only 20 chances, so we’ll agree that sucks, but what happened last year, or 2018 has nothing to do with this year. I agree, and do not blame not having a closer for the only reason for the losing freaking season, but once again not having a reliable closer when the Sox have had the lead, or tied in the 8th, and 9th inning has cost them games. Inconsistent hitting they have had, but inconsistent hitting did give them a lead in the late innings in games they lost, and that was on the non closer.
  2. Just watch Franchy’s footwork around the bag, and that will tell you he’s an error waiting to happen, or won’t prevent one.
  3. I’ve been saying that right along that Franchy is not a 1B, and Arroyo is not a RF, and that is all on Bloom. The Red Sox are 8-15 in 1, And 2 run games, and I believe are worse than that when trailing after 6. Pretty much if they don’t hit, and pile up the runs they lose. Even 6 runs last Friday night wasn’t enough.
  4. Downs should be sent down to Portland so maybe he wouldn’t K so often. Noticed he did hit a bomb today though.
  5. Sometimes I think the trolls know more than you do. Makes more sense too especially when it comes to Bloom. Remember stepping in puddles is not a good thing to do especially when you don’t have your boots on.
  6. Agree 100%, and this is something for some reason that Bloom, and Cora refuse to do, or don’t know how to do it.
  7. Moon you don’t like to hear from me, and I’m one of the talk show yappers, and it pleases me so much that it bothers you so.much.
  8. Just pointing out that the opinions on are are not the end all be all. Has anyone figured out that no opinions have been changed, or is going to change yet?
  9. I’m not hiding, but just stating a fact that there are lots of others like me out there in Red Sox Nation who think that Whitlock should be the closer, and if you got out to just being on here you would hear, and see that.
  10. #1 I never said Cora was an idiot although he has made some dumb decisions like letting Arroyo bat in the ninth inning last Sat when the league leading hitter JD sat on the bench. I also never said that Whitlock would be a terrific closer, but based on what he did last year I thought he should be given the chance, and if he had I feel the Red Sox would have a better record right now, because I think he could do the job. I’ve also said in an earlier post that no one knows how good Whitlock can be, and what role he could be best at. I’ve also said many times that making Whitlock the closer has nothing to do with his ability to start, but with Barnes being a shell of his former self Whitlock would be more valuable in the pen. The fact that the Red Sox lead the league in blown saves, which is 12 blown chances out of 20 save opportunities says to me they need a closer, and yes I know all the blown saves haven’t been in the 9th inning, but they have been tied, or ahead in the 8th, and 9 inning in 8 losses. Now It’s no secret I’m not a Bloom fan, but what has Cora, and Bloom done to fix the bullpen? Shuttled Bra Man, Sour Man, and Valdez back, and fourth from Worcester. What haven’t they done is try Whitlock, or Houck at the back end of the pen.inconsistent hitting has been a problem, and errors in big situations also has hurt, but so hasn’t blowing leads when the Red Sox have had them late in games.
  11. Did you ever listen to Eddie Andleman, or the Sports Babe?
  12. From all the millions, and millions of Rock’s fans we thank you for the kind words.
  13. Moon all I can say that after all this the Sea Dog Biscuit offer still stands.
  14. Why , because they have different opinions?
  15. And how are they different from forum goers? Fans are fans.
  16. I’ll give you a E for effort, because no matter how many times you analyze something wrong you keep on trying. Even IF I had disdain for prospects there is NOTHING WRONG with that. I singled out Downs not, because of Downs, but because of Bloom’s bad judgement in trading for him. You still can’t explain why you think your opinions are better, and are so constructive, and are not hollow like all the others that disagree with you on other venues. I’d prefer to be called the DISDAINER. I don’t mind one bit being in the minority, but you seem to have a big problem with it. Of course you would have to realize you were first, and you don’t get that staying in this forum cocoon.
  17. What Bush was doing was calling Bloom out for not having reliable arms to do those jobs, and I agree.
  18. The old fall back start the name calling. I don’t think anyone knows at this point how good Whitlock can be, or what he would be best at, but that’s just my opinion.
  19. I was just reporting what other fans are saying about Whitlock, and there are lots of them out there that think he should be the closer.
  20. I fully understand that the farm is part of the future, and I fully understand that pretty much everyone has come from the farm at one point, and time, so all along my point has been that they don’t count until they get in a Red Sox uniform and produce, so that to you is disdain, but it’s funny I don’t hear that anywhere else when I voice that opinion. I guess we hang around different water coolers. I look at the Red Sox minor league box scores every night, and last night I noticed Bloom’s great prospect Jeter Downs was 0-4 with 4 K’s, which I believe Jeter is hovering around 200, and leads the team in K’s. No I don’t have a plan, and I haven’t been asked for one anywhere else. I do listen, and watch many other sports venues, and I like to broaden my horizons, which I guess you don’t, but I know they have many different opinions than yours, and because they do does in no means make it nonconstructive, and hollow criticism. How nice of you to judge other people, and their opinions. I love it when a plan comes together.
  21. I do agree that Bloom is in over his head in Boston 100%.
  22. Listening to the radio this morning, and the first thing being talked about was the Red Sox bullpen, and specifically the back end of the BP. What was said is that Whitlock is just an average starter, and long story short Whitlock should be the closer, and Houck should be the setup man. Bloom, and Cora have done nothing to fix the BP, and here we are 50 games into the season with a losing record. Like I keep saying on this forum that I’m in the vast minority that wants Whitlock to close, but outside this forum the majority that I hear want Whitlock to close. Very interesting don’t you think? Like I keep saying Red Sox Nation is very big, and usually when I hear different venues the story is completely different kind of like Fox, and CNN, but like I keep saying EVERYONE is entitled to an opinion.
  23. Well how are the prospects useful playing in Worcester, or Portland, or the other two. Are their stats counting for the Red Sox, and helping them win games? I don’t know how that’s so hard to understand. Did any of the farm boys hit a HR tonight that helped them beat the Reds? If they did I must have missed it. I don’t have any disdain for prospects they are what they are minor leaguers, but for some reason you think they are more than that. I never said I had a plan, but I do have opinions like everyone else. Not everyone who calls a talk show has a plan, but do make opinions, not every sports writer has a plan, but they all have opinions, and not all people who visit forums like this have a plan, but they all offer opinions. How many armchair QB’s could be a QB, but do offer opinions?
  24. well 12 blown saves means you had the lead 12 times, and lost the game starting opening day when Whitlock was put in to get a 4 inning save. 12 losses is 12 losses, which I repeat they did have a lead.
