  1. Maybe you should have done the year end press conference since you seem to know more than Kennedy, and Bloom. NOT. All wishful thinking on your part.
  2. I know I’m a broken record, but my opinions are based on what Kennedy, and Bloom said, and so far how they have done business for the last two years. I doubt they made any Serious offers to anyone this off season outside of the Whacka types, and must have had a weak moment when they took back JBJ, and his contract , so when you say you are not sure the Sox will sign someone long term this winter, but think they might what is that based on?
  3. Yes GM’s do say one thing, and do another, but so far the Red Sox have followed the same plan for 2 years now, and so far this year have stuck to last years plan just like they said they would. Reports of offering players contracts, and actually offering contracts doesn’t always mean they were offered, or legit. The Sox offered Lester a contract knowing he wouldn’t take itjust like they did with Betts. It meant absolutely nothing, so to keep on thinking the Sox are going to do something big to me is wishful thinking. Don’t get me wrong I would like to see them lock up Bogey, and Raffy, but I don’t think that will happen. I’m just going on for the 100th time on what Bloom, and Kennedy have said, and not my opinion, so I don’t know what you are going on. Another head scratcher?
  4. Well think what you want, but so far they have done exactly what they said they were going to do. If they were going to spend money this year I would have hoped they would have spent it on pitching instead of signing the likes of Whacka, and by the way you got your big contract when they traded for the overpriced JBJ. I’ll take what the big brass say as gospel until they do different, and wishful think isn’t going to change that.
  5. Even after the year end press conference that Kennedy, and Bloom had you still thought that?
  6. My only point was that it was a fairly young team in 2018 with home grown talent and if Bogey, and Raffy aren’t retained 2023 will be pretty much a whole new team in a few short years.
  7. It will be great to have millions of dollars to spend, but my question is how did we get to this point. Just a few years ago the Red Sox were coming off a WS Championship with a fairly young outfield, a fairly young left side of the IF, and if Boggey, and Raffy aren’t retained that will be pretty much a whole makeover of the team in 2023.
  8. That should be the main objective in all sports to level the playing field.
  9. It’s going to take lots of pushing if Bogey, and Raffy aren’t around, and lots of money too. It could be a whole new look, and not necessarily a team that’s near, or over the top.
  10. I’ve always thought there should be a hard cap with a top on how much a team could spend, and a bottom on how much a team has to spend. Maybe the owners, and players should switch sides for a while to see what the other side sees.either way when all is said, and done, and even if the season doesn’t start on time the fans will forgive, and pay whatever the going rate is.
  11. Always about money, but time does matter. Would you rather have Raffy under control for 2 more years, or 1 more year?
  12. The only data I want to see is a box score, which going back to the old Sporting News papers I am a junkie.
  13. Nothing wrong with that. All I’m saying is for me I could care less about analytics,, and I don’t need it, or care about it to watch anything to do with sports. I didn’t need it 60 years ago, and I don’t need it now. Nothing wrong with that, and nothing wrong with people who like it.
  14. What led to your belief that Kike was the best CF the Red Sox ever had? Eye test, or analytics?
  15. I watch enough to tell me that Bogey does not have lots of range. I don’t need anything else to tell me any different. You like all the analytics, and I do not, so everyone has a different view, or a different need to tell them something that happens, or is going on.
  16. Like I have said so many times, but with way to many stats out there today the best test is still the eye test.
  17. This is all good, and true, but I don’t think Price would have been signed if Lester would have resigned.
  18. No votes for Price who Lester was basically traded for at a much steeper price?
  19. And the Sox stiffed him with a lowball contract offer.
  20. What the Red Sox will do with Bogey, and Raffy is the million dollar question.
  21. I guess I still haven’t learned yet when I generalize when making statements, because people like to analyze, and zero in kind of like Moon’s head scratching, and people went on, and on even though he didn’t mean it that way, so I’ll try it again. Blooms main way of operation is to scour the bargain basements etc where Theo, and Dombrowski would do it, but was not there main way of doing things. I don’t think Bloom would spend Thanksgiving with a Whacka type like Theo did with Schillings. .
  22. That was quite a find just like EL Tiante back in the day.
  23. No I don’t have a source, but just an opinion like everyone else. Every teams GM is different depending on what the goal is, and how much money they have to spend. GM’s in Boston, and NY are a lot different than Florida, or Pittsburg, or this year being a big spender like Texas. Dombrowski had worn out his welcome, and the Red Sox wanted to take a different approach of doing things, and that’s why I think that’s why Bloom got hired, which is nothing wrong in doing that.
  24. Moon I know you know the answer to this, but with spending $40M last year how much did they actually add to the overall payroll?
  25. I ve mentioned this before that Bloom got hired to scour the bargain basements, minor leagues, and waiver wire that he had experienced at Tampa something that the likes of Dombrowski, or Theo wouldn’t do.
