  1. 5 innings is NOT a quality start, and once again the BP has to go at least 4 innings.
  2. Casas sits tonight against a RHP. The Ref Man starts in LF.
  3. Oh how that fame is fleeting for that No Name offense.
  4. On to Cincinnati game #2.
  5. Well I voiced my opinion long enough on this. I’m not changing anyone’s opinion on this, and no one is changing mine.
  6. I understand all that, but I’m still going with Wink in that situation only down 1-0 in the 5th inning. 3-0 no, but 1-0 yes. Any time you use Wink for 2-3 innings you burn him for a couple of days, but then you have the Kut Man.
  7. Using Wink who was more rested in a 1 run game in the 5th inning, and that would have left the Kut Man for tonight, or tomorrow night. That game was very winnable last night only down 1-0, and as it turned out more than likely. Tonight, and tomorrow nights game might not even be a need. Bad way to manage to me waiting a day, or two for a better chance in only being down 1-0. Of corse one of your sayings was I don’t agree with Cora, but I don’t think he was wrong. I think he was wrong, and I think it cost them a win.
  8. Mayer finished the game 0-5 with 2 K’s, and 7 LOB. His last AB he took a called 3rd strike with the bases loaded. Now he’s got his feet wet we’ll see how it goes from here.
  9. You are still missing my main point in all of this. You are looking from a SP perspective, and I’m looking at it on how many innings the BP has to throw every night. Bello going 7 innings last time was great, but only going 4 innings last night meant the BP had to go five. I don’t care if Bello had a perfect game going when they took him out last night that wouldn’t have changed that the BP had to go 5 innings last night. I wasn’t blame-shaming Bello for anything more than only pitching 4 innings, but you took it from there, and ran with it. I still say that Wink should have came into the game in the 5th inning last night only down 1-0. Paxton goes tonight, and it would be great if he could go 7, or at least 6.
  10. That doesn’t help now though, and now at the moment is the most important.
  11. He’s never played as often, or this many games at SS before. The more you play the more it shows how good you are.
  12. Chang had ousted Kike at SS before he got hurt, and had shored up the D there too.
  13. Mayer is in today’s lineup.
  14. Many were for signing Andrus, and you never know how things would work out, but at the time it would have been worth a try.
  15. He’s actually done alright in the OF so far.
  16. There was still plenty of time after Story went down to get a real SS, and one who was actually healthy. The fact is Kike started the season as the #1 SS no matter what the plan was, or wasn’t.
  17. Last time through the rotation in innings pitched. Pax 3.0 Houck 4.0 Kluber 2.1 Whit 5.0 Bello 4.0 These performances put a lot of stress on the BP having to go 4+ innings in all these starts. There may be 8 so called pitchers in the BP, but Martin, and Jansen are late innings guys, so the other 6 have to pick up the slack. That’s what I was trying to say with Bello last night that only going 4 innings no matter how good, or how bad he did is unacceptable. The point was the BP had to pitch 5 innings, and at the rate they’re going they will be worn out by the AS break.
  18. No! problem is Story was hurt, so he started the year as the #1 SS this year. He got taken off SS for Chang, but then Chang got hurt so he is still there. Forget Mondesi.
  19. It’s kind of like last year with Arroyo trying to play RF, and Franchy Strange Glove playing 1B.
  20. Wink hasn’t been good this year?
  21. I forgot to use the green, but Cora’s use of the BP dug them to big a hole to climb out of.
  22. Outside of 1 bad outing I think Wink has been the most effective BP guy this year, and would have been the best choice at that place in time down 1-0 in only the 5th inning.
  23. If Cora’s BP decisions weren’t wrong tonight I’d hate to see them when they were.
