  1. You mean the Yankees will actually start Jazz and Rice, with their 31 and 26 homers? Ya know, more than any other Boston batter this year... (LA benched their HR leaders in the 2018 World Series because of match-ups; how'd that work out for them). The Sox platoon because they have to, not to overanalyticize... ... speaking of the biggest Game One miracle -- not bases-loaded-no outs (Sox fans are used to that): 0-2 count to Rafaela, as usual... then 10 pitches later he walks, setting up the winning rally. Wha-?
  2. I honestly think Skubal helped us today. The Sox surely had the earlier Detroit game on in the clubhouse, and saw Skubal throw 107 pitches. Crochet said hold my beer: 117!
  3. Closers are asked to get 4-out saves a lot, especially in the postseason. What was unlucky is we had a guy out there who didn't give up three hits all summer, suddenly give up three hits on three pitches...
  4. Ok, thanks -- that made me laugh -- after almost having a coronary watching Chappy morph into 2018 Kimbrel.
  5. The Yanks will only be pitching a rookie from Massachusetts... who went to college in Boston... in a loser-go-home showdown... in the Bronx, New York. He's already taking valium.
  6. Spike must be embarrassed now about his movie when he wore a Dodgers jersey and everybody called him Mookie.
  7. In the boxes, the bodies burning As the war machine keeps turning Oh, Lord, yeah!!!!
  8. Look, Judge is playing right field. He just squinted.
  9. Very risky. Has to jam Stanton on every strike.
  10. Don't worry, they'll show it 17 times before he's on deck. Then we'll see him on deck in all 4 pitches to the leadoff man. The best shot was when Volpe's homer landed, the Judge Cam immediately showed him in the dugout smiling... when he had nothing to do with it.
  11. Slaten or Whitlock in the 7th? Bellinger-Stanton-Rosario? Grisham-Volpe
  12. Yoshida, hit a high fastball to left for a 2-run single.
  13. .333 with a team-leading 13 RBIs this month. Can an offensive juggernaut like the Red Sox bench that?
  14. Yoshida does have 3 career homers in the Stadium -- just saying. That's 3 more than Duran...
  15. For those still stuck in rush hour, Sogard took that feed from Story at 2B, pulled a sharpie out of his back pocket, signed his name and number in cursive on the ball, then doubled up Stanton at 1B.
  16. Half of them with tickets are still sitting in traffic jams listening to the game on the radio.
  17. ESPN has the volume up so loud on the crowd that I can't hear half of what the announcers are saying. But that's ok since I 'll be muting all of them soon anyway.
  18. Commercial over. There's Judge again in the dugout, Now he's running onto the field. He's having a catch! hey... Max Fried is on the mound
