  1. Thanks, just saw that they went 8-6 during that stretch.
  2. What was the sox's record with betts on the DL this year?
  3. From busted ol'nut's twitter Buster Olney ‏ Verified account @Buster_ESPN Nov 5 More If you created an award for a hitter who had most impact on a club's offense culture, J.D. Martinez would win in a landslide in 2018. Boston's collective take-what-the-pitcher-gives approach vs. Keuchel in ALCS should be shown to hitters, and J.D. was in the middle of that.
  4. Well, we are all entitled to our opinion. To me the sox were missing something when ortiz retired, and I kinda felt like jd brought it back, although in a quieter manner.
  5. As I said, betts had the better season stat wise. I just think jd had more impact on the club over all. If the MVP is just about stats, then to heck with the voting, just give it to the WAR leader every year ......
  6. I'm not here every day, so sometimes it takes me a while to respond. And many times someone else has responded to it with a similar thought to mine.
  7. Not really, about 1300 innings, far less than Kershaw and, surprisingly, less than sale.
  8. I understand that, but it doesn't mean he wasn't more impactful for the eventual WS champs than betts.
  9. Yes, that would be crazy......
  10. Gotta love this from Cashman: Cashman said the Yankees feel no urgency to make a quick splash to steal the spotlight from the Red Sox in the wake of their championship. "The Red Sox winning doesn't change the hunger level of trying to deliver a championship, sooner than later, for our fan base," Cashman said. "They're getting a championship-caliber effort regardless of the results. With that being said, we're going to continue with the processes that served us well and put us in a position to be contenders again and dream big. "Ultimately, we're going to continue to apply that process and see if it comes to the conclusion we're all looking for, which is a championship. The hunger and the effort and the passion is there, despite the horrible outcome that took place in the World Series this year."
  11. While I think betts had the better season, I think jd was more impactful and therefore would have been my pick for the MVP.
  12. I'd be more interested in Kluber than Carrasco.
  13. Understood, but they are legit TOR starters, something the Yanks desperately need.
  14. Rumor has it that the Guardians are looking to trim payroll and that they will listen to offers on Kluber and Carrasco.
  15. Meanwhile, back in reality, the Yanks outdrew the sox both at home and on the road.......
  16. That's cute aside from the fact it wasn't the 2018 trophy that got damaged.......
  17. The sox also set a new first. Highest payroll to win the WS and highest payroll to finish in last place.
  18. Well, we certainly will see.
  19. I tend to agree with you on that....... Atlanta wouldn't surprise me either.
  20. Would they really have enough to sign those three?
  21. That's fine if you want to judge him on 89 games. I'll go with the longer track record.
  22. For sure, it's short money. I just don't see the need for it.
  23. LOL, catchers typically take longer to develop.... but you keep telling yourself that.
  24. So I guess devers doesn't have a future either then........
