  1. And Erod appears to be his pupil to the detriment of both. Do these guys even know Chris Sale ?
  2. His 2 inning NO-NO looks pretty strong right now. Holt's 2 late swing fouls are the only hard hit balls.
  3. Is there still time to call up Thornburg tonight , get him dressed and out there ? Why waste the real bullpen ?
  4. Big Game Price shows up again. This one is as over as last nights was after Devers slam. Tied for first after July 1 game, I guess that's where they are. BTW, Betts took a bad route on Gregorious's hit.
  5. Watch out, Smokin Joe Kelly follows these posts and can give some payback
  6. Glad to be a member of your "disagreement" team, and here's another. Grew up originally in MA and RI, moved to Dallas for 18 years , and would return to Texas in a heartbeat, where I had no trouble making friends. Living in lunatic CA only due to family reasons as a concession to happy wife-happy life. Let's just agree to friendly disagree on some baseball opinions, not all. You do have some great stats.
  7. One of three things will happen with Castillo , if he can hit well enough at AAA: 1. The Sox will need him in lieu of one of Beni, JBJr, Betts due to injury, trade or FA down the road ; 2. His contract balance will be relatively small enough for a rich club (LAD, SF ) to pick him up ; 3. He becomes trivia question as in who was the highest paid guy (total $$$) to play the fewest MLB games.
  8. John Lamb, 27 , of the Angels , who got pounded by the Sox last week is now out for his second career TJ surgery, being the 4th Angel pitcher to have the procedure this year. With guys like Groome and Honeywell plus several others, it seems that few young guys make it through college/minors and into MLB without shredding the UCL. The new badge of courage on the mound.
  9. Different direction---If and when Pomeranz returns (before Wright) does he go in as a starter or do you trust his stuff enough to try relief ? If Wright is still out, I guess Drew will start and see what he has. If Wright is also ready, who goes as a starter ? My guess is that Cora would start Pomeranz until he fails again and puts Wright in the pen. But, that may not be the right answer
  10. And he blinded Judge and Stanton with his good stuff but gives up the 2 out hit.
  11. Last night and tonight shows clearly why the WC as opposed to the AL East winner is such a dangerous coin flip. Who shows up on that one day ?
  12. Sale did show up as the Ace, after a terrible team night before. Stopped NYY and set the tone, after Devers 4 run bomb. Takes a lot of pressure off tomorrow night. No team would want to face Severino with a "must" win. Now a victory tomorrow would be a real statement in Yankee stadium.
  13. Swihart should have bunted to show his versatility
  14. Some Cora suggestions for tomorrow night: 1. Play Holt 2. See #1 3. Let Pearce cover for a tired Mitch Moreland
  15. Thanks , Heath, I assume you will now close out the inning, f'ing jerk
  16. With that pop-up catch, Holt is now errorless through 141 chances
  17. DD called down to Cora and told him to showcase Blake Swihart behind the plate tonight , LMAO
  18. Here's a clue to the pen: If Hembree or anyone else walks a guy with a 10-0 lead then you know you have a failure to communicate
  19. Think the BP can get 6 outs without spitting the bit ? Or let Sale run with his 1 hitter ?
  20. The shift takes another hit away from JBJr. They have it figured and he hits it there
  21. Very nice, Sandy . Crushes it for 2 runs
  22. Was that not a place for Holt to PH for NUNEZ. He gave that last pitch no effort of any kind. Don't want to run him into the ground but he has been lost in this series.
  23. Check Beni in a week and see if he is steady or slumping over the next several games. He, like JBJr, is streaky and I think the current trend is down. If I'm wrong, I'll buy him 2 bags of seeds.
  24. No question, a carryover legacy from the Texeira, Jeter, Rivera, Jorge era
  25. What's the difference between JDM and Benintendi? JD is not in a slump like Beni is as of right now.
