    This will be an ACE or an ASS game for Sale. Can't hold anything back at this point. Either Chris can bring something to the upcoming run for the playoffs or he is a variety of sourdough toast.

    This is the key to the season. By July 31, they are either moving up or heading south. Playing teams ahead in the standings and trying to make up April lost ground.

    Just try winning a lot of games through July 31 vs top competition ( excluding Jays/O's). Then we might have a good fight on for AL East or WC #1 or #2. Just don't take it for granted yet that the Sox have won anything

    I actually like and appreciate your season long commentary on the juiced ball. I only wish the Red Sox (Martinez) had realized it was available to them too. But now deep into the "second half" it gets a little wearisome to see the same argument over and over. You were/are correct. Focus on how the Sox can either take advantage of the ball or prevent it from being the difference.

    Beating the winningest team in baseball by 8-1, mimicing the 2018 World Series, is fun enough. Having Taylor and Velazquez close out he Dodgers after Erod stifled them is super. f*** these clowns and just keep winning to see where it winds up. Tough to think of a 108 game winner as a WC but whatever. Tonight feels good.

    2 hits through 5 ? Good thing they were solo shots so we actually scored. Erod accomplished his job.Top 5 hitters, 1 for 10 through 5. There's your short fall in 2019.

    I'm surprised with that too. Las Vegas is 250+ miles from LA, I'm over 100 miles south and the Dodgers have a total crap network but MLB lets them shut out games originating in Boston. The Dodgers do suck mightily.

    That's all it takes in MLB for an official game. 15 outs by the home team. If called off whichever team has the most runs wins.

    The fact that Carpenter with his 8++ ERA is still in the game after 5 with just 80 pitches is another recurring story for this season. Sox do have a lead so far, but there is a reason they are tied for lead in "come from behind wins". BP issues, failure to rout sloppy starters on oppo teams, some baserunning ,etc.

    Sox need to get through at least the bottom 5, in case rain does materialize.

    Correct. Imagine the Sox playing a "stay sharp" exhibition waiting for the '46 Cardinals and Ted Williams gets plunked in the elbow. WTF Cora would have rested him and probably won the Series
